Some women are opting to build their careers and have financial stability before having kids, others haven’t found the right person to start their family with and are choosing to do it on their own through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Celebrities are no different, with their constant traveling and demanding careers, some female celebrities are electing to have children later.

1. Halle Berry, 47 years old
Oscar-winner Halle Berry had her second child at the age of 47, with French actor Olivier Martinez. She has a daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry, from a previous relationship with model Gabriel Aubry.
2. Jane Kaczmarek, 46 years old
The Malcolm in the Middle sitcom mother juggled 4 kids on screen, but in real life Jane Kaczmarek had 3 kids at the age of 42, 44, and her third at 46.
3. Janet Jackson, 50 years old
Janet Jackson became a first time mother and gave birth to her son, Eissa Al Mana, at the age of 50.
4. Kelly Preston, 47 years old
Kelly Preston and her husband John Travolta had a baby, their son Ben, when Kelly was 47.
5. Susan Sarandon, 45 years old
Susan Sarandon was diagnosed with endometriosis, a disorder that can cause infertility, despite this she had her third child at the age of 45.
6. Iman, 45 years old
Model Iman welcomed her child, Lexi, with legendary musician David Bowie at the age of 45.

The Danish actress, who used IVF treatment to get pregnant, gave birth to her fifth child at 54. She didn’t give up and her perseverance paid off when she had her daughter Frida.
