The names of fashion designers are really well-known. Some of us even wear the things they produce and buy perfumes in Duty Free with the popular last names of designers. But very few people would actually recognize the legendary designers if they saw them because it is rare for these people to appear in magazines or on TV.

Dolce & Gabbana — Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana

In 1985, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana founded the Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. The future partners met at the beginning of the 1980s when Domenico found a job in an atelier that Stefano owned.

Armani — Giorgio Armani

Fashion designer Giorgio Armani is one richest people in Italy. He was born in an Italian town Piacenza, but he has Armenian roots.

Armani started his career as an assistant fashion designer Nino Cerruti, and in 1974, he presented a collection under his own name.

There is not a lot of news about the life of the designer, according to his sister Rosanna, he has a very closed personality and he almost doesn’t have any close friends.

Tom Ford — Tom Ford

Tom Ford is an innovator in the fashion world. His open mind about things has been appreciated by the public and by his colleagues. For example, in 1996, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named Ford designer of the year.

The brand Gerry Weber grew from the small company, Hatex KG, that used to produce women’s clothes. The owners were Gerhard Weber and Udo Hardieck.

Young and enterprising Weber came from a working family and by that time, he already had an education in selling textiles. The Hatex KG company was set up in 1973 and when 13 years later, their sales were 72.7 Deutsche Marks, the name was changed to Gerry Weber.

In 2001, Gerhard’s son started to work for the company.
