Being a mom is one of the greatest feelings in this world. The truth is, becoming a mother isn’t always an easy task, and it’s often accompanied by hardships and pain. For instance, many women have trouble getting pregnant due to reproductive issues and have to undergo IVF treatments or other procedures that are painful and overwhelming physically and emotionally. Many celebrities have also faced this issue, but now they are moms.

The Bright Side team compiled a list of female celebrities who struggled to conceive, but they finally succeed to cheer up and give hope to all the struggling future moms out there.

1. Chrissy Teigen

Supermodel Chrissy Teigen and her husband, singer John Legend, had been struggling for 5 years to conceive. They wished it happened naturally, but they only achieved their dreams of becoming parents thanks to IVF shots. In 2015, the couple’s efforts paid off, and they got pregnant.

2. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie became a mother for the first time in 2002, when she adopted Maddox from Cambodia after his birth on August 5, 2001. Four years later, Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt had their first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. They continued to adopt other wonderful children. But their last twins Knox and Vivienne were conceived through in vitro fertilization since the couple were fed up with waiting and wanted to expand their family.

3. Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox shared the struggles of many women out there who underwent several miscarriages. “I get pregnant pretty easily, but I have a hard time keeping them,” she said jokingly. She admitted that the process isn’t easy, but she and her husband have no choice but to try again and again. After trying in vitro fertilization, an experience that was “nerve-racking”, she got pregnant with her baby girl Coco.

Tyra admitted that she believed that she’ll have kids in about three years, when she was 24. However, things didn’t go according to plan.

5. Brooke Shields

According to Fertility Today, Brooke Shields tried one more round of IVF at the age of 36 after a miscarriage and multiple unsuccessful rounds of in vitro fertilization. That last attempt was successful, as she became pregnant in 2002 and gave birth to Rowan in 2003. She gave birth to a second daughter in 2006 without the use of IVF. In her book Down Came the Rain, she opened up about how tough the process was alongside other issues like postpartum depression and more.

6. Céline Dion

Like many women, the Canadian singer had a difficult time becoming a mother. In her early 30s, Céline Dion needed one round of IVF to become pregnant with son Réne-Charles. The second time she tried to have a child with her husband, Réne Angelil, it was more difficult. Her twin sons Nelson and Eddy were born after a miscarriage and six rounds of IVF.

7. Amy Schumer

The comedian is known for being open about her troubles with IVF while she and her husband Chris Fischer were attempting to conceive their son, Gene, where they retrieved 35 eggs from her. She’s also spoken up recently about undergoing the treatment a second time to give their son a sibling. She talked about how awful the whole experience was and how she decided to call it quits.

8. Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway’s pregnancy quest was so hard and long that she began to feel disturbed when she even saw a pregnant woman. When she revealed her pregnancy on Instagram, she admitted that her journey had not been a walk in the park.
