Too true!
If only more people realised that a child's shyness is actually a response to verbal abuse and putdowns.
Instead of building up their child's self worth, they always keep it pushed down.
These sorts of parents do massive damage long term, and it follows the child into adulthood.
Its abuse.

Look, he's not dumb, he's just not ready to accept it yet. Hopefully When he decides to accept it he will be in love with the baby.
Maybe he will talk to his wife and forgive her. Maybe he's been wanting a baby regretting his vasectomy. He will make his decision in time.
