10 People Whose Romantic Stories Are Straight Out of a Novel
Some love stories are pretty regular, a girl meets a boy, he asks her out, and the rest is history. But other stories offer a more romantic take, almost straight out of a novel. From adorable meet-cutes to rom-com-like scenes, these love stories can make anyone smile.

I was living on student accommodation in my first year of university. It was 2am and there was a huge thunderstorm. I was watching from my balcony and saw a bunch of people in the courtyard also watching. I convinced myself to go join them and socialize, so I went down in my pajamas and bed hair.
Started talking to one of the guys in the group, and we didn’t stop talking until 10am. I think we were official within a week. We just reached our ten-year anniversary a few days ago and live with two adorable cats. © PatGarrettsMoustache / Reddit

At an art fair. He owned a small furniture and design shop and was one of the exhibitors. His booth was at the front door, so when I walked in he was sitting in a chair facing me. We both stared at each other (not in a flirty way) like a deer in headlights.
I walked around the whole fair and decided to come back to talk to him. He showed me a really wild helmet he made that looked like a melon. I tried it on, and he took a pic and then asked for my number so he could text it to me. He still thinks he was sooo smooth for that, haha. © rat_cheese_token / Reddit

I was done dating. Was talked into downloading TikTok to kill boredom. Found a pickle costume and started goofing off.
Came across a trucker who had just as goofy of a personality. Followed each other. Found out we lived an hour from each other, so we met for coffee when he was home for a weekend visiting his kids.
The instant connection was apparent for us both, so the next night at dinner we decided to see more of each other. Now he’s next to me in bed playing video games while I eat a giant bowl of mashed potatoes he made, and our kids are goofing off. © themomfiles / Reddit

In college, I worked as a student secretary for a coffee shop. My eventual boyfriend (now husband) worked as an intern manager, but neither of reported to each other. The office we shared with other managers for the coffee shop was in the back and was a tiny-converted janitor’s closet.
The more time I spent at work alongside him in this little closet, the more I realized how much I liked him. He was (and still is) incredibly kind to me and was the sweetest person I had met there.
On Valentine’s Day, I took a chance and asked him on a date. We went on a date the next day, and have been inseparable since. I have zero regrets and feel so fortunate to have met the love of my life within only 6 months of being at school. © lw262111 / Reddit

My husband and I work for the same company. We had our meet-cute when he came to my location to train us. We had to work in forced proximity, which led to some heavy-duty flirting.
He was in a higher position than me, and even though I wasn’t directly reporting to him, our company still would’ve highly discouraged the relationship. Since he was trying to move up and the relationship could’ve hindered that, we had to date in secret for about a year until he got the position he wanted. © Aries_Moon / Reddit

When I was younger, I liked a boy who seemed to show up everywhere I went. One day, my friend even said she saw him standing outside my house, watching me. Soon after that, he disappeared.
Years later, I saw his face on the news. He was a well-known writer. Not long after, I got a message from him. The message read: “I spent years writing about you, you’re the girl who inspired every love story I’ve ever told.”
When we finally met for coffee, he smiled and admitted, “I was too shy to talk back then, so I just... made up every way we could meet in my stories.” Now, our own real love story sits on bookstore shelves.

In college, my long distance partner wanted to go to New York for spring break. I was in art school, broke and didn’t have the airfare, so I told him that I couldn’t go.
We were skyping (yes, Skyping) a few weeks later, and he said, “I have something to tell you, and then I’m going to hang up. I bought you a ticket to New York.” He immediately closed his laptop. I swooned. © hazel_bit / Reddit

We were grumpy-sunshine coworkers! My now husband and I worked in next-door departments. I was very serious and kept almost entirely to myself, my husband was a flirty, sunshiney extrovert.
He brought me coffee every morning and constantly interrupted my work with bad jokes and goofy antics until I wore down and agreed to go out with him. We’ve been married 9 years now, and I love him madly. © AlmostRuthless / Reddit

I saw a gorgeous blonde woman at a restaurant and decided to ask her out. She was on the phone, then looked at me and smiled. As the waitress approached, she instantly frowned and yelled, “You don’t deserve a dime!” I was shocked.
As I reached, the blonde smirked, saying, “Don’t worry about her.” But, I was instantly turned off from her bad attitude, smiled politely, and walked away.
I went to the waitress to see if she was okay. I used to work as a server, so we exchanged a lot of customer stories. I ended up asking her out, and she’s been with me for four years now.

Saw this guy at a bus stop, we both got on the bus, thought I’d never see him again, no woes I suppose. Lo and behold he gets off the same stop but who is standing there other than my best friend. Turns out she’d found him on a dating site.
She treats him really badly (she treats everyone badly), but we get on like nothing else. She dumps him, we get together. Been together 5 years, don’t speak to her anymore. © cluelesself101 / Reddit
