A study revealed that over 50% of Americans have had a crush on a co-worker. And actors aren’t exempt from catching feelings for someone they work with. They’ve spoken out about how it made them feel shy or awkward on set, or how they managed to laugh about it years later. Let’s dive into the stories of some unrequited celebrity crushes.

1. Twilight’s Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone

They were an on-screen couple in the Twilight franchise, but it turns out that Ashley Greene had a big crush on Jackson Rathbone that she developed almost immediately after meeting him. She said that her crush didn’t last during the entire time they filmed, and she didn’t tell Rathbone about it, but she highly suspects that he knew it and just didn’t like her back romantically.

2. Legally Blonde’s Matthew Davis and Selma Blair

The leading actress of Legally Blonde, Reese Witherspoon, spilled her co-star Matthew Davis’ secret about him having a crush on Selma Blair during filming. She said that the crush became obvious during the trial scene they were shooting because he was noticeably nervous around Blair.

3. On the Road’s Kristen Stewart and Amy Adams

When Kristen Stewart was asked about her crushes on other celebrities, she mentioned Amy Adams right away. She said that Adams is her favorite actress, and since the pair got to work together and Stewart saw how awesome she was, her crush blossomed.

The Harry Potter reunion brought the former co-stars closer together, and Daniel Radcliffe reminisced about how he used to have a crush on Helena Bonham Carter when they were filming the movies. On the last day of shooting, he gave her a note that read, “It was a pleasure being your costar (...) I do love you, and I just wish I had been born 10 years earlier. I might have been in with a chance.”

5. ...and Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Helena Bonham Carter

That’s right, Helena Bonham Carter stole the heart of another young Harry Potter actor. While Emma Watson, who played Hermione, had a crush on him, Felton was blown away by Bonham Carter. He spoke of her with admiration, saying that she was “completely unique” like an “English rose with a twist.” He also recalled that when the camera was off, it was “all hugs and darlings, then when the camera starts rolling she turns into a complete psycho.”

6. A Cinderella Story’s Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray

Hilary Duff admitted that she had a big crush on her co-star and on-screen love interest, Chad Michael Murray while filming the movie. She said that she felt nervous about filming kissing scenes with him, but since they became friends, it wasn’t so awkward for her anymore.

7. Boy Meets World’s Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong

The actors from Boy Meets World have been rewatching their show on a podcast, which led Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga, to make a surprising revelation. She said that she had a crush on Rider Strong, who played Shawn. It started during the filming of season 1 and lasted through season 2 as well. Strong was surprised to hear this because she had never told him that before.

A Walk to Remember is not exactly the most lighthearted movie there is, as it depicts upsetting themes, but during a rewatch, its leading star, Mandy Moore, cheered for the couple and shared that she had “the biggest crush ever” on co-star Shane West in real life.

9. Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale and Drew Van Acker

Aside from being an actress, Lucy Hale, who played Aria, is also a singer. In 2014, she released a song titled “Lie a Little Better” that describes her having a serious crush on someone, and fans got curious about who the lyrics were referring to. Years later, she revealed that it was dedicated to her co-star Drew Van Acker, who played Jason. She said that she wanted to tease people’s interest for longer, and that’s why it took her so long to finally tell her fans the truth.

10. Friends’ Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston

The duo met 3 years before Friends started shooting, and Matthew Perry revealed that he was “immediately taken by Jennifer Aniston.” He tried asking her out, which she declined, but said that they could still be friends. Then when they had to film Friends together, he realized that he was still crushing on her badly, so it became awkward to even greet her. The actor would constantly ask himself silly questions, like, “How long can I look at her? Is 3 seconds too long?”

Have you ever had a crush on a co-worker? Do you think it makes things awkward?
