There are times when you watch a movie and think, “This can’t happen in real life!” And then such an amazing story happens to you that you don’t know whether you’re inside a thriller or a comedy. The heroes of our article shared stories exactly like this.

The corporate party’s over. A coworker drags me to her place. She says, “Don’t worry, my husband is away on a business trip.” After a bit of thinking, I agreed.
In the morning, she gets a call on the phone, she doesn’t pick up. She gets another call, she doesn’t pick up. 10 minutes later, the door opens, and 2 dogs burst in, followed by a cat, then her 2 children, grandmother, mother, father, and even uncle who came from another city. I have 3 dads. Even though I only met my biological father a couple of years ago.
I was sure that the man who’s been with me since birth was my real dad. But no. Turns out, when my dad left my pregnant mom, she got together with Serge, a childhood friend. They made up a legend that I was his daughter.

I dropped out of high school at 15, I bounced around in call center jobs with no plan and no prospects. One day I met a girl there, and we became friends, she was an aspiring author.
She said I “seemed smart” and asked me to help her figure out how to become an author, and she’d make me her manager and share the book royalties with me. I found office jobs crushing and really bad for my mental health, but the only thing that kept me going was helping my friend accomplish her dream.
Fast-forward 10 years, we’re best friends, I helped her become a best-selling author, we’ve sold millions of books, we live up the road from each other, we’re both happily married and I don’t have to do any work other than help her with her books.

My husband works part-time as a taxi driver. He had one weird call recently.
He pulled up to a house, and a man got in his car. My husband asked where they were going? To which he was asked to lend some money! And the man would give his passport and documents on his car as collateral.

I was at home, not waiting for anyone, and then the doorbell rang. I opened the door and there was my neighbor with 2 cakes. She smiles and says, “I’m so tired of my husband, let’s celebrate!”
I was shocked, I didn’t know what to say, but she had already come in, sat down on the sofa and started telling me all the details of her family life. In the end, the evening was spent discussing her problems and eating cakes.
Since then, every time I hear the doorbell ring, I think, “I wish it wasn’t her!” I hate hearing about other people’s problems. I have enough of my own. © Ward 6 / VK
I’m still shocked by my classmate’s story, even though it’s been 7 years. She met the perfect guy, everything was fine, she was supposed to celebrate the New Year together with his family, but on the 31st of December the guy had an accident.

On a ferry from Wales to Dublin in 1994, I fell asleep on a bench in a quiet private lounge where I thought I was alone. As the ferry got underway, someone came in to turn on the TV in the lounge.
I heard a voice say, “Can’t you see this gentleman’s asleep?” The ferry worker explained that the TVs are supposed to be on while the ferry’s in motion. The man said, “We’re the only ones here. You can keep it off.”
I opened one eye to see who it was that was looking out for me, and it was Sean Connery and his wife. I woke up to thank him for letting me catch some shuteye — I had spent the day cycling from York, England, and needed the rest. A guy proposed to his girlfriend in the cafe, but she silently picked up her bag and left. We all sit in silence, he doesn’t understand anything either. 5 minutes later, she comes back with another guy, hugs him and says, “I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a long time. I thought I’d do it today. Anyway, I’d like you to meet Alex, I love him, and I’m sorry.”

At school, I, like all my classmates, laughed at a boy with the surname Goose. Not that it was the funniest surname, but this just happened. I wish I knew then that I’d become a Goose myself.

I rented a flat: the landlord is normal, the flat is super, I didn’t communicate with the neighbors. But at some point, strange things started happening — the neighbor began to leave notes with some childish silly threats (it turned out that it was him, when I saw him shoving a note under my door). I asked him what he wanted — he played dumb.

My best friend and I broke up because of a guy 5 years ago. He messed with both of us, couldn’t make up his mind, was torn between us. So, we had a big fight, did everything we could to win him over. In the end, he chose the third girl and dumped us both.
We haven’t spoken to each other since then. But recently we met at the shopping center by chance. We froze like statues, and then we hugged each other in tears.

I witnessed an accident on the road. While we were waiting for paramedics, I gave first aid to the driver and made him talk so he wouldn’t pass out. He immediately gave me the keys to his flat, told me the address and then said, “Please come to my place, feed Maggy! She must be hungry there. You can spend the night at my place, play console, do whatever you want, but don’t forget to feed Maggy.”

The story happened about 3 years ago. I went to the common cellar for potatoes, on New Year’s Eve. I went down the stairs and, before flicking the light switch, foolishly asked, “Anybody here?” “Me,” came from the darkness.

I went swimming at night in the ocean, and my money and debit card were in my pocket. When I got out of the water, my pockets were empty. I went back at dawn with a snorkel and found the card (saw that shiny dove on the back in the seagrass) and even found a few of the bills too! My wife and I had been trying to have a baby for 5 years, all to no avail. The day my wife found out she was pregnant for the third time, we weren’t even excited. We were so scared that we were afraid to breathe, let alone be happy.
We went to bed at 9 o’clock in the evening out of emotion. We woke up at 5 in the morning and found a cat lying on my wife. Definitely a stray cat, you can’t mistake it. We live on the ground floor and didn’t close the window.
My first thought was to take it outside, in case it’s sick, and my wife is pregnant. But then I looked closely: it was thin, with sick eyes and a wound on its back. I took it to the vet, they examined it, bathed it, treated, analyzed, prescribed treatment and recommended food. The cat and I bought everything necessary and went home to my wife.
I fed the cat and put it on its bed. But the cat didn’t want to lie there and jumped on my wife’s bed, and carefully laid down on her belly. The wife said, “Let him lie there, maybe he’ll feel better there.”
So, our Cupcake lay near the belly all 9 months, near our baby. And this pregnancy was happy and healthy. Now our 2-year-old Alice sleeps in the cot, and next to her our cat Cupcake, as usual. © Chamber 6 / VK
I was looking for perfume. I looked for a long time and still could not find the right one. One is too sweet, another is too fresh. Saw a small shop, away from everything, decided to go in out of sheer curiosity.
It turned out to be an antique shop. There were a lot of knick-knacks and I noticed a bottle of perfume, decided to smell it and the fragrance was more amazing than anything I’d smelled in my life! It was so perfect that it’s even difficult to describe it. But that’s not all.
Since I started using this perfume, I have: found my love, been promoted at work and got rid of a nasty case of maxillary sinusitis. I wonder if it’s my luck turning round, or if it’s the magic of the perfume. © Caramel / VK
