Cutting a rope lengthwise like that wouldn't produce 2 ropes. It would produce several hundred little pieces, as ropes are twisted together in a spiral. Also, using the "known him from school" to declare his innocence only works if you know that school was more than two months ago. Since they hadn't established that, it's not necessarily an accurate indicator.

What should they do?
4. What the right question?

Prisoners were told that they have a chance to be free. There are 2 doors and a security guard near each door. One guard is a liar and the other one always tells the truth. One door leads to freedom, while the other door will lead the prisoners to the execution room.
The prisoners can talk to only ONE guard, and ask only ONE question. Which question should they ask to find the door that will take them to freedom?

I agree. Cutting the ropes could kill her. It should have explained a different strategy
Where did she even get the scissors??
I actually could solve all of them!
For the one about the prisoners escaping with the two guards, the answer is wrong. The correct one is "If I asked the other guard which door leads to freedom, which door would he point to?"
That’s exactly what I said
5- why little kids gettin married
It's choosing the fiance
#4: Which door will the other guard say is the door to freedom?
If the guard is truthful, then he knows the lying guard will point to the execution door and will point to it.
If the guard is lying, he correctly thinks the truthful guard will point to the door to freedom, but he will lie and point to the execution door.
In both cases, the door not indicated is the one to choose
