Kristen Bell, the talented actress known for her radiant complexion, has revealed an unconventional approach to her morning routine that defies conventional wisdom. Surprisingly, she doesn’t wash her face in the morning, yet manages to maintain a youthful appearance well into her 40s. The actress openly shared the fascinating skincare choices that keep her skin looking fresh and vibrant.

She washes her face once a day.

Washing your face too often can leave your skin excessively dry and more susceptible to premature wrinkles. Bell says she doesn’t see the point in cleansing your face first thing in the morning. “I believe in washing all of the grime off of your face at night, and I always like clean skin, but the oils that my skin produces during the night are vital to maintaining my moisture balance during the day. I don’t ever want to strip my own natural oils in the morning by washing,” she shared.

She loves DIY products.

Popular skincare products may contain harmful artificial ingredients that can do more harm than good to your skin. Bell tries to stay away from harsh chemicals and says she uses Manuka honey and sugar to keep her skin smooth and well hydrated.

“It has these antibacterial properties,” she described the benefits of Manuka honey. “I wash my face with it,” she added. The actress adds a little sugar into this mask which leaves her skin feeling extra soft.

She opts for gentle skincare products.

Aggressive components in your skincare, such as parabens may negatively affect your health, and even cause allergic reactions. Bell says she carefully reads the labels when choosing her beauty products.

“I’m not putting any harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens, petroleum, or dyes on my skin, but I’m getting the same results as everyone else. As I’m getting older, I’m realizing how important moisture is to my skin,” she shared. The actress chooses moisturizers that contain hyaluronic acid because “hyaluronic acid is how your body naturally gets moisture.”

She priorities good sleep.

Getting a good night’s sleep is vital for your overall wellbeing and helps you reap many beauty benefits. The actress knows the importance of beauty sleep. “What’s really important is getting sleep... If I’m sleep-deprived, my skin looks terrible,” she said.

She eats healthy.

Even the most expensive skincare products may not work if you’re not paying attention to what you eat. Bell says she does her best to cut down on unhealthy foods.

“We’re trying to do no gluten, no grains, no lectins, no nightshades, no dairy. I already don’t eat meat,” she shared. “I’m a big believer in skin from the inside out. I don’t believe the ’cure’ should be outside in,” she added.

Not only does Kristen Bell think that washing your face in the morning isn’t necessary, but she also revealed that she doesn’t bathe her kids on a daily basis. She says she and her husband, Dax Shepard, “wait for the stink” before diving their kids a bath.
