“You Are Fat,” Khloé Kardashian Speaks Up Amid Body-Shaming Attack on This Plus-Size TikToker
Khloé Kardashian just demonstrated her kind heart by extending a supportive hand to a girl in need. Remi Bader, a popular curvy TikToker, once shared her struggles with hateful comments about her weight, and Khloe wouldn’t stand for it. The reality star rushed to Remi’s defense and made us all wish she was our own best friend.
Remi Bader promotes body positivity with humor.
Remi gained popularity on TikTok by sharing videos making fun of mainstream clothing stores and their suggestions of what plus-size women should wear. Her account, that currently has over 2 million followers, serves as a safe space for ladies of all sizes. Bader is not shy of making fun of her shape in order to entertain others and show them that they’re not alone.
Bader’s antics landed her on Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Social Media in 2023. She even partnered up with such companies as Revolve, Victoria’s Secret, Walmart, and more to be the face for their curvy lines. Remi herself credits her success to being honest online and showing not only the good side of fashion, but also the ridiculous one.
She’s open about her struggles on social media.
Remi’s success came with a lot of downsides. She often receives hate messages about her weight, specifically “negative comments from random men, or people that were just like, ’You’re fat. We don’t want to see this.’” But the worst part for her was receiving backlash from the plus-size community, which she was a proud member of.
Bader shared that whenever she opens up about feeling bad about her weight, people from her community start calling her “fatphobic” for failing to fully accept herself. The TikToker revealed that all this pressure took a toll on her mental health. She started binge-eating and experiencing health problems due to a rapid weight gain (+80 pounds over a few years). Currently, she’s working hard on her well-being and receives proper treatment.
Khloé Kardashian supported her during a tough time.
In September 2023, body shaming got a bit too far for Bader, so she recorded a video addressing the situation. She said that sharing her health journey and receiving negative comments about it was too much for her to handle. Remi had decided to stop any updates on her personal life and her workouts, her diet, and anything concerning her body would be strictly her business from now on.
Bader’s post reached Khloé Kardashian, who took to her own Instagram to share support for the TikToker. The reality star wrote an incredibly heartfelt message for Remi: “You are perfection just as you are. Exactly as you come. In all phases, you are perfection. Never forget that your soul sparkles, your smile is magic, and your heart is pure.” We really hope Bader saw Khloe’s beautiful words and felt just a bit better about the situation.
Khloé also had to deal with unkind words about her looks in the past.
The youngest of the three Kardashian sisters is no stranger to body shaming. She once opened up about how being on TV affected her. Khloé said that even though she used to be “chubby”, she felt the most confident. But it was people who watched the show who gave her insecurities: “I’ve been torn apart the minute that I’ve gone on TV. I didn’t look like my sisters, so therefore, it’s not good enough.”
Since then, Kardashian has worked hard on her body and lost a significant amount of weight. For example, after giving birth to her daughter, True, Khloe revealed that she shed 60 pounds. Today, she’s in love with exercising, which help her keep in good shape.
In addition, she takes care of her overall health. As someone prone to skin cancer, she recently needed to undergo surgery to remove a tumor, and you can read all about it here.
