An Artist Creates Police Sketches to Show How Different Book and Movie Characters Are

When we read a book we often create images in our heads: the weather, how a house or an apartment is designed, and, most importantly, what the characters look like. And that’s what Brian J. Davis, a filmmaker and digital artist, decided to do too. Though he didn’t use his imagination to create images — he used a law enforcement composite sketch software to get the most accurate results!

Bright Side decided to compare these sketches to the pictures of the actors to see if they actually match the descriptions of the characters in books. Let`s see what we got!

1. Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Scarlet, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

2. Daisy Buchanan, The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald

3. James Bond, Casino RoyalMoonraker, Ian Fleming

4. Nick Dunne, Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn

5. Mr. Wednesday, American Gods, Neil Gaiman

6. Carrie White, Carrie, Stephen King

7. Tom Ripley, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Patricia Highsmith

8. Dallas Winston, The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton

12. Dorian Gray, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde

13. Humbert Humbert, Lolita, Vladimir Nabokov

14. Annie Wilkes, Misery, Stephen King

15. Professor Moriarty, The Final Problem, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

16. Lisbeth Salander, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson

17. Javert, Les Misérables, Victor Hugo

Are we really suprised that they couldn't find an actor that 100% matched the description in a book?

most of the times actors' appearances don't match with the book, but I don't think it's necessary. As long as they play good and the film is interesting, it's all fine to me

I'd prefer an actor because he can act.. not because he looks like a character from a book description
