Morena Baccarin Hated Kissing Ryan Reynolds and Filming Intimate Scenes With Him in “Deadpool”

You probably know those moments when you’re totally absorbed in the on-screen chemistry of your favorite characters. Well, turns out it’s not all smooth sailing for the actors involved. Behind the scenes, they face some pretty uncomfortable situations.

Morena and Ryan teamed up in the blockbuster hit Deadpool, where they played the love interests that won everyone’s hearts. Baccarin rocked the role of Vanessa, the girlfriend of Reynolds’ character, Wade Wilson, better known as the wisecracking anti-hero Deadpool. Their electrifying chemistry and rollercoaster relationship had audiences on the edge of their seats, making them the ultimate power couple of the movie.

Although it may have appeared joyful to viewers, Baccarin revealed that the reality behind the scenes was far from what fans witnessed on screen. Although she enjoyed filming the movie, she confessed that it wasn’t at all fun for her.

Many might consider kissing Ryan Reynolds a dream come true, but Morena hated it.

During an interview, the Gotham actress didn’t hold back in expressing her less-than-enthusiastic feelings about locking lips with the 46-year-old heartthrob. Baccarin revealed that it was uncomfortable kissing Reynolds, as his full-body superhero suit smelled like rubber the entire time.

The costume also made it harder for Morena to connect with Reynolds on an emotional level. She confessed that seeing his face hidden behind the mask made it a bit challenging to truly feel the connection. But when the mask was off, and she could see those dreamy eyes of his, the magic happened, and it was much easier for her to connect with the character.

Filming the intimate scenes took too long, and she hated doing them as well.

Morena also revealed in an interview that overall, filming Deadpool was a wonderful experience, minus the 2 days of filming the intimate scenes. “It took 2 days to shoot the intimate scene because I think it was us making sweet love for an entire calendar year. So it was all the holidays, you know. So we dressed differently for each one.”

However, Morena was not the only one who spoke openly about filming the awkward scenes. Ryan also described the filming process of the intimate scenes as “horrifying.” “It was a year’s worth of intimacy in one day. Which sounds a lot more romantic than it is, trust me,” he revealed.

While it may not appear uncomfortable to us as viewers, filming such scenes can actually be quite challenging for many actors. Emilia Clarke even revealed that she cried before filming intimate scenes with Jason Momoa in Game of Thrones.
