According to a new study, the belief that life starts at 40 is not a myth. It has been revealed that it is around this age when most people tend to achieve their goals and aspirations. And this is probably why the celebs in our collection like being in their 40s rather than their 20s.

1. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, a mother of 6, feels positive about growing older because seeing herself at this age reminds her of how much she looks like her mom, which brings her comfort.

Talking about age, the actress also says: “I also see myself aging, and I love it because it means I’m alive—I’m living and getting older. Don’t love having a random dark spot from a pregnancy, sure. I see my flaws. But what I see that I like isn’t about structure or appearance. It’s more that I see my family in my face. I see my age.”

2. Pamela Anderson

In an interview this year, Pamela Anderson discussed how her perspective on aging has evolved over time. Despite receiving a lot of attention for her looks, she never felt like she was a great beauty.

However, she shared that she looks forward to seeing herself age and is fine with the fact she’s getting older: “I always said I’d recognize myself in the mirror when I was old. I want to let my hair go kind of natural grey, put my little straw hat on, don’t wear makeup.” “I mean, that’s my comfortable kind of state,” she added.

3. Eva Mendes

In 2020, a user on Instagram commented that actress Eva Mendes was getting old, on a post showcasing her new haircut. Mendes responded by expressing her gratitude for aging and being alive.

“Yes, you’re [sic] right,” the actress replied. “Thank God I’m getting old. That means I’m still here. I’m gonna be 46 soon and grateful every day that I’m aging. Was your comment supposed to make me feel bad? It didn’t. It makes me feel grateful,” she continued. “So thank you for the reminder that I’m still here.”

4. Connie Britton

Actress Connie Britton is also excited to embrace getting older. In a 2017 interview, Britton shared that she has heard that your 50s are the best time, and she feels ready for that chapter in her life.

“That whole stigma of being over 40 and not being sexy anymore is fake news. We’re more vibrant because we have experience. We know our bodies. I have a friend who says that you always want to make sure it’s your life that you’re living — it’s a constant mantra,” she said.

5. Kristen Bell

In a 2020 interview, actress Kristen Bell discussed how her perspective on aging has changed. While she acknowledges that there may be surface-level changes that come with getting older, Bell chooses to focus on the growth and evolution happening on the inside.

“I feel more in charge of my life and happier than I’ve ever felt, and that’s because of wisdom, and how I’ve evolved as a person. Did I have an easier time getting in shape and a better bathing-suit body in my 20s? Sure, but if I weigh all that against the wisdom I have now that I’m 40, there’s no comparison. I’m loving it and I’m wearing it like a badge of honor.”

6. Katherine Heigl

To mark her 40th birthday in 2018, Firefly Lane actress Katherine Heigl took to Instagram to share her thoughts on reaching this milestone. In a lengthy post, Heigl expressed her excitement about turning 40.

“40 feels to me like a certain kind of freedom,” she wrote in the post. “Freedom from all the self-doubt, insecurities, self-loathing, uncertainties, and anxieties of my 20s and 30s. Not to say I don’t still have those moments, but I just feel like 40 makes me older and wiser. Steadier in my convictions. More certain of my strengths. More forgiving of my faults.”

7. Cameron Diaz

In 2022, Cameron Diaz expressed her appreciation for aging and how it has changed over time. The actress credited becoming a mom for this shift in perspective and now sees aging as an exciting opportunity.

“It’s totally opened up. I’m excited. I’ve got 50 or 60 years to go — I want to live to be 110 since I’ve got a young child,” she said. Diaz believes that being present for her daughter in the future will be a valuable experience.

8. Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon believes that she has become wiser with age. In an interview in 2019, the actress shared that she has a different point of view now that she is 43 years old, compared to when she was 25.

She adds: “I didn’t have the same things to say. I’m 43 and I’ve had a whole bunch of experiences, and I can speak with thoughtfulness about the changes I’d like to see in the world, and ... I just feel like I earned that grey hair and my fine lines. I like ’em. I so prefer 43 to 25.”

9. Gwyneth Paltrow

In 2019, during a panel discussion, Gwyneth Paltrow expressed her love for being in her 40s. “I am no longer in my 20s and 30s, I am 46 and I love being in my 40s,” she said. Paltrow said that being a woman in her 40s brings an incredible sense of freedom and that she has stopped worrying so much about what others think of her.

10. Sharon Stone

In 2020, actress Sharon Stone discussed how turning 50 has affected her. She shared that she has stopped questioning everything, which has given her more room to breathe. “I think it’s just getting comfortable in yourself — in everything — but certainly the work,” she continues. She believes that aging is a great thing and considers herself lucky to have the opportunity to do it.

Angelina Jolie’s unique parenting style, marked by a blend of traditional and unconventional educational approaches, freedom of choice, and an emphasis on celebrating diversity, has shaped her family’s dynamic.
