I was wondering, so they need to take the hormonal medication through their whole life?

There are people who are born in bodies that feel foreign to them. Such individuals have a gender identity that differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. Luckily, current medicine allows people to change their gender and the way they look with the help of surgery and hormone therapy.
We at Bright Side collected 14 brave people who have already started their long journey toward getting their true gender identity, and we admire each and every one of them.

I believe they take it up to a certain point and then stop
oh I see. I was thinking that the body might try to return back at some point 😅
nono, then the transition is fully done and the body just stays in that state
Sorry to inform you that you are incorrect on that. You should do some reading first.
No, the hormones should be taken for life. The thing is these people never change and can never change their gender, they just acquire its apparence (to some extent). Their bodies will still produce their own hormones (according to their real gender) and they need to 'fight ' that till the end.
They will have to continue on hormone therapy for the remainder of their lives.

no matter at what age, it's always the biggest pleasure to finally find yourself :)
Why so many dislikes. I find t wonderful that so many people can finally find their true selves.
Have you noticed that there are only guys changed to ladies?
Yes, where are all the brown skinned trans people and trans men?
It's the majority of the trans community. Somehow they think if they pretend to be a woman their life would be easier, but in fact women have it worse!
Why is there only one East Asian trans woman?
I've been a man and I've been a man who emulated a woman. I've never been a woman. I never had that service once a month. I've never been pregnant. You know, I can never say how a woman feels. I can only say how a man who acts like a woman or dresses like a woman feels.
