Whether it’s to take care of their body, protect animal rights, conserve the environment, or even just to try something new, some celebrities have stopped their meat consumption for good. And they’ve chosen to explore other options. Vegan or vegetarian, they now choose plant-based food over foods with an animal origin.

Bright Side will tell you which celebrities have chosen to change their diet and focus more on eating vegetables and why some of them made that decision.

1. Woody Harrelson

Actor Woody Harrelson is a regular vegan. In 2020 he played a big part in Kiss the Ground, a documentary about climate change and the effects of animal agriculture on the soil. The goal of the documentary was to raise awareness about how our way of eating could help reverse this damage by preferring to grow sustainable foods that are primarily plant-based instead of consuming animal products and raising them in terrible conditions.

2. Benedict Cumberbatch

The British actor, known for playing Doctor Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has not hesitated to open up about his eating habits and his preference for vegan options, based entirely on the consumption of plant-based products.

In addition to this choice to not eat meat, Benedict Cumberbatch has modeled wearing vegan leather boots and garments made of a fabric known today as the “wool of the future” for an animal-free luxury goods brand.

3. Brad Pitt

During an interview carried out at the Golden Globe Awards, the American actor said that he’s all for the vegan diet. In his opinion, veganism is a lifestyle that can be adopted by everyone, while “not everyone likes to eat a piece of meat.” He finds it very strange to see people consuming foods of animal origin like fish that can give you bad breath. However, it’s not clear whether or not Pitt is actually vegan.

4. Kate Winslet

Although Kate Winslet isn’t vegan and is just a vegetarian, she believes that the best way to stay beautiful, healthy, and young is to consume green juices. According to her, the enormous amount of nutrients they contain are beneficial in that sense. That’s why her refrigerator is full of leafy foods and other vegetables instead of meat.

She has also mentioned in the past that it has been fun to change her diet. She regards these types of limitations as an opportunity to get a little bit more creative when it comes to food so it’s a win-win situation.

5. Sandra Oh

In 2008, this actress decided to try and turn the rest of the cast of Grey’s Anatomy on to veganism by taking her colleagues to a specialty restaurant located in Hollywood, California. According to an entry published on PETA’s official blog, at the dinner, Patrick Dempsey built a “close relationship” with the animal-product-free chocolate cake, while Ellen Pompeo has consistently returned to this establishment.

6. Mayim Bialik

The actress who gained fame after she appeared in The Big Bang Theory not only leads a lifestyle that is free of animal product consumption but she’s also published a book of family recipes to prepare dishes with plant-based foods. Let’s not forget that Bialik is also a neuroscientist and she has also posted some videos on YouTube to raise awareness and spread the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.

7. Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin is sure that the road to a better world starts by choosing the right food to put on our plate. The actor believes that the vegan lifestyle can make great improvements to our environment, and this is reason enough to eliminate all kinds of animal foods from our diet. After all, it’s true that you can replace them with fruits and vegetables.

8. Peter Dinklage

The actor who played Tyrion Lannister is also concerned with the welfare and rights of animals. He has been a spokesman for PETA campaigns in videos that aim to raise awareness of what it means to put food on our plates. PETA and the actor believe that, in this way, people will be able to choose a healthier lifestyle.

What changes would you like to make in your diet? What do you like to eat the most?
