A study found that when people closest to the bride and groom buy wedding gifts, they often depart from the registry in an attempt to express their special relationship. Sadly, they often wind up disappointing the wedded couple.
The Bright Side team dug through the internet in an attempt to compile a list of the strangest most unique wedding gifts that neither celebrities nor royal couples saw coming.
1. Prince William and Kate Middleton: a bike
Instead of physical gifts, Kate Middleton and Prince William invited their guests to make donations to a fund for charities, but one guest insisted on giving the bride and groom an unusual present. Mr. and Mrs. were gifted a tandem bike as part of London’s new bike-share program.
2. Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman: a cow
In 2012, Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman, who had been dating for more than three years, wed in a low-key ceremony in California. PETA officials (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) offered the couple an unprecedented wedding gift: a cow named Peter.
