This cat with Down syndrome looks like an alien.
Noooo it doesn't it's cute.
From a scientific point of view, cats can’t have Down syndrome because they have only 19 pairs of chromosomes, not 23, as humans do. But animals can have trisomy (a condition in which there are 3 instances of a particular chromosome, instead of the normal 2.) Trisomy’s symptoms are similar to those of Down syndrome in humans. Therefore, cats with genetic mutations are sometimes attributed to this syndrome, since it sounds more relatable to humans than trisomy.
Vitiligo made this cat’s coat look really remarkable.
A fox-cat
The cat-fox is part of Corsican shepherd mythology. From generation to generation, they told stories of how the forest cats would attack the udders of their ewes and goats. But in 2019, scientists discovered a unique cat that didn’t belong to any known species.
