7 Foods That May Help You Fight Cellulite
80% to 90% of women may get cellulite at some point in their lives. And although there are many medical ways to treat cellulite, such as laser therapy, cool sculpting, or surgery, they all are quite unpleasant and expensive. And the easiest way to combat those annoying dimples is to invest in a nutritious and healthy diet that will benefit your whole body.
We at Bright Side have done some research to find out which foods may help you in the fight against “orange peel skin.”
1. Melon
Why it works: Melon is about 91% water and has a diuretic effect.
What it does: Melon juice may reduce dimples on the thighs, according to a recent study. 40 healthy women ages 31 to 50 were given melon juice extract for 56 days, and they lost a significant amount of cellulite in that area. Melon contains no fat or cholesterol and can help satisfy cravings for something sweet.
2. Dark chocolate
Why it works: Dark chocolate contains antioxidants.
What it does: Antioxidants activate the breakdown of the fat which contributes to cellulite. It supports the cardiovascular system and activates blood flow, helping to reduce dimples.
3. Saffron
Why it works: Saffron has anti-inflammatory properties that may improve blood circulation and keep down the growth of fat cells.
What it does: Saffron gets your blood flowing and may make this “orange peel” skin less visible. It also increases muscle tone under the skin and eliminates valleys on the surface. As a result, you get smoother looking skin.
4. Blueberries
Why they work: Blueberries are a great source of an antioxidant known as anthocyanin.
What they do: Eating blueberries prevents fats from converting to cholesterol. They improve lymph flow and eliminate cellulite-promoting toxins. Blueberries also boost cellular renewal and help to improve the look of one’s skin.
5. Cayenne pepper
Why it works: Cayenne pepper activates the fat burning mechanisms of the body.
What it does: Cayenne pepper eliminates toxins that accumulate in fat cells under the skin and cause cellulite. It may help to rebuild healthy tissue which makes the skin appear smoother. Cayenne pepper also contains vitamin B6 which helps to restore and enrich the connective tissue.
6. Garlic
7. Quinoa
Why it works: Quinoa helps to break down the fat cells that are responsible for the formation of cellulite.
What it does: Quinoa assists in burning excess fat in the body and may reduce the accumulation of fat cells. Minerals in quinoa boost collagen production, strengthen the skin, and improve elasticity on the skin’s surface.
Do you include any of these foods in your daily menu? Do you know of any other ways to reduce cellulite?
