8 Anti-Wrinkle Exercises That Can Make You Appear More Youthful

As we age, the muscles on our faces tend to become weaker and end up looking saggy. At that point, many women decide to turn to plastic surgery. However, we believe it’s always better to look for natural solutions, like face yoga. When practiced regularly, this technique may prevent the appearance of wrinkles and thus slow down the aging process.

We at Bright Side know that looking younger on the outside makes you feel younger on the inside. To help you keep your skin fresh and tight, we decided to tell you about these 8 facial exercises you can perform anytime.

1. Do a tongue thrust exercise for a younger-looking neck.

This exercise will help you strengthen the platysma muscle, found at the front of your neck. Tilt your head back and slowly press your tongue to the roof of your mouth. If you’re performing the exercise correctly, you should feel the muscles in your neck tightening. Return your head to a natural position and repeat this move 10 times for the best results.

2. Strengthen your face muscles with spoon lifts.

After making sure that the spoon handle is clean, put it between your lips. Try raising the spoon and dropping it back down using only your jaw muscles. Repeat this several times, and then try to smile with the spoon still in your mouth. Hold this position for up to 10 seconds to lift your cheekbones and strengthen the muscles in your neck.

3. Lift your eyebrows to look younger.

When your forehead starts to sag, your eyebrows tend to drop lower. To prevent this, place an index finger between your eyebrow and eyelid. Use your forehead muscles to lift your eyebrows as high as possible while simultaneously pulling the skin below the eyebrows downward with your fingers. Repeat it 10 times in the morning and in the evening. Keep in mind that the skin around the eyes is delicate, so don’t put too much pressure on it.

4. Reduce wrinkles around the eyes with the “V” exercise.

This is a favorite exercise for reducing wrinkles around the eyes. Touch both ends of your eyebrows with your index and middle fingers. Press slightly with the fingers and stretch the eyebrows. After that, look up at the ceiling and raise your lower eyelids. Repeat this exercise 7 times, once a day. Not only will it reduce wrinkles, but it also helps with getting rid of puffiness around the eyes.

5. Make a clown face for a facelift.

The clown face exercise will give you a general facelift. First, make a wide grin while keeping your lips together. Pucker your lips and push your chin downward with your finger while they’re closed. In this position, repeat the ear-to-ear grin and hold it for 5 seconds. Do 10 reps a day to see the difference.

6. Try out the “lip grip” exercise.

Lip grip is another amazing exercise for toning your face muscles. Wrap the lips around your lower and upper teeth. Insert the spoon between your lips and press the lips together. Try to pull the spoon out using both hands. Hold this position for several seconds before releasing. Repeat 4 more times to tighten the jaw and the skin around your lips.

7. Smile to smooth your face.

This exercise can do wonders for your cheeks. Open your mouth slightly and cover your teeth with your lips, so they’re hidden. Then smile as widely as you can. Put your index finger on your chin and tilt your head back to open your jaw, before returning to your natural expression. Do 7 reps every day. This exercise will help you tighten the skin, especially on your cheeks.

8. Lift your lower face with a spoon.

One more exercise with a spoon will help you firm and lift your lower face and reverse the “sunken-mouth” look. Tilt your head back and extend your lower lip. Place the spoon on your lower lip and try lifting that lip with the spoon on it. Hold for several seconds and then release. To see results, you should repeat this exercise 5 times.

Have you tried facial yoga exercises? Did you notice any changes in your appearance?
