9 Celebrity Men Who Can Teach The Whole World What Love Is

We often admire celebrity men for their success, wealth, power, and good looks. But there are some of them who should be admired for their long-lasting dedication to their significant others. Oftentimes, especially in show business, romances and marriages end too soon, leaving fans wondering if true love really exists. Luckily, there are some outstanding examples who have stood by their partners through thick and thin, and are continuing to grow stronger as time goes by.

Acts of true love always inspire us at Bright Side, so we compiled a list of celebrity men who earned respect by providing unconditional love and support to their wives.

1. Keith Urban

15 years and 2 children later, the marriage between Nicole Kidman and Australian folk musician Keith Urban is still blissful. Speaking of their first meeting, Urban confessed: “Meeting her and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning. It was literally, like, ’OK, life starts.’” They met in 2005 and married the following year, but their marriage had a pretty rocky start.

Keith’s struggle with addiction came to a head and he had to make a life-changing choice. He admitted that his relationship with Nicole helped him come out of it as a winner: “For the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction.” Nicole proudly praises her husband and his devotion throughout their marriage, especially after her father passed away: ’’To have my husband to step up in that way, it makes me cry. He’s amazing. I will keep him. I’ll do anything for that man."

2. Pierce Brosnan

This celebrated actor has played numerous roles, but it seems that being a devoted husband and father is the most important one for Pierce Brosnan. Before marrying his current wife Keely, Brosnan was married to Cassandra Harris for 11 years. Sadly, their marriage ended in 1991 when Cassandra died of cancer. Brosnan and Harris had one child, with Brosnan later adopting 2 of Cassandra’s children from her previous marriage. According to him, his wife Keely Smith, who he met in 1994, helped him survive this very difficult time in his life.

After 22 years of marriage, their relationship still stands strong: ’’Keely is the most amazing mother and woman — I’ve watched her grow up over 27 years, watched our life together just blossom and grow. And there are still many more dreams to be had," he said. He stood by her side and defended her when she was the target of body shaming: ’’I strongly love every curve of her body. She is the most beautiful woman in my eyes," Brosnan said.

3. Roberto Benigni

The famous Italian actor and director we all remember from the legendary movie Life is Beautiful has been happily married to actress Nicoletta Braschi for more than 4 decades. They have been together through thick and thin as romantic, business, and artistic partners. He stood by her side after a terrible car accident in 2012 that forever changed her face.

When Benigni was awarded a lifetime achievement award at 78th Venice Film Festival, he gave an emotional acceptance speech dedicated to his wife: ’’I can’t dedicate this award to you because this award is already yours. We have done everything together for 40 years. If you were to measure time, it would be with you and without you. We can share the award: I take the tail, and the rest is yours. The wings are yours. If anything I’ve ever done has taken off, it’s thanks to you, your talent, your femininity. You radiate light, love at first sight, indeed an eternal sight,’’ he said.

4. Prince Harry

The love between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is apparently so strong that the prince even gave up his royal title just to be with his beloved. The rebellious prince met the love of his life in 2016 when the ’’beautiful Ms. Markle tripped and fell’’ into his life, as he puts it.

He proposed to her in 2017 with a stunning engagement ring he designed by himself. One of the 2 diamonds on the ring belonged to Princess Diana. Commenting on his lovely gesture, Megan said it was a sign of ’’Harry’s thoughtfulness.’’ The prince once said that he believes that his late mother and Meghan Markle would have been “best friends.”

5. John Legend

John Legend met his love, Chrissy Teigen, in 2007, but it wasn’t until 2013 that they became husband and wife. They have 2 kids together and it seems they are living a dream:

’’We actually really love and respect and admire each other," he said at the time. “I think that’s the foundation of who we are as a couple and we actually enjoy each other’s company. She’s so good. She’s so attentive, she’s so loving, and she also has a great sense of humor about it all.”

When the couple went out to have some fun shortly after their daughter was born, Legend publicly defended his wife after Twitter trolls labeled her as “irresponsible.” He wrote:
“Funny there’s no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We’ll split it.” They stood strong in the face of hard times. As Chrissy shared heartbreaking news about losing their unborn child, her husband was there by her side, comforting her.

6. Jon Bon Jovi

This rock star married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, back in 1998 and their marriage stood the test of time in the most beautiful way. All these decades later, the couple is closer than ever thanks to their close-knit family life. They have 4 kids together, daughter Stephanie and sons Jacob, Jesse, and Romeo. When asked to share the secret of their loving and long-lasting bond, Bon Jovi says the secret is mutual respect: ’’Having grown up together and grown together. And we really like each other. We want to hang out.’’

Aside from their love for each other, the couple is also active in giving back to the world. They opened several community restaurants called Soul Kitchen where people in need can eat for free. “I’m happiest if I like what I do for a living, I’m doing right by my family, and I’m making the world just a little bit better,” he adds. Bon Jovi proves that he is a special kind of rock star — one who rocks the world by spreading love.

7. Hugh Jackman

The famous actor’s marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness, who is 13 years his senior, has weathered through all sorts of obstacles since 1996. From public disapproval caused by age difference to harsh criticism of his wife’s appearance and weight, Jackman is still devoted to his wife. He stood by her side in good and bad times. Deborah suffered 2 miscarriages, so the couple eventually adopted 2 kids. Jackman confessed that he knew she was the one very soon after meeting her: ’’I knew 2 weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives."

On their 25th wedding anniversary, the famous actor shared a heartwarming message to his wife on Instagram, reading: “Being married to you, Deb, is as natural as breathing. In our 25 years, our love has only grown deeper — the fun, excitement, and adventure more exhilarating, the learning even greater. I’m forever grateful to share our love, our life — and, our family together. We’ve only just begun. Deb, I love you with all my heart!”

8. Steve Carell

Steve Carell and his wife Nancy definitely know a thing or 2 about making a relationship work. They have been married for more than 20 years, have worked together, and have 2 kids together. “I’ll never forget standing at the altar and I saw her coming down the aisle — immediately a sense of calm came over me,” Carell said remembering their wedding day.

’’There was an ethereal sense of how right it all was and, more than anything, it was very empowering knowing that person was going to be my partner and have my back. It just made me feel strong, and I’ll never forget it,’’ he adds. The famous comedian even believes his wife is funnier than him: ’’She makes me laugh more than anybody.’’

9. Kevin Bacon

When Bacon and fellow actress Kyra Sedgwick met in 1987, he admits that he was immediately ’’in love with her’’ while she was ’’put off’’ by him. They got married in 1988 and had their first kid soon afterward. They welcomed their second child, daughter Sosie, in 1992. Both of their kids are following in their parents’ footsteps in terms of career choice.

He supported Kyra in parenting as well as in her career by encouraging her to direct: He never stopped believing in her and kept telling her ’’You can do this!’’ Bacon admits that his wife sacrificed a lot more than him: ’’In many cases, because of the kids, she would make decisions career-wise that weren’t the best for her career.’’ He often shares posts honoring the love of his life on Instagram. One of them says: ’’Posting just because she is the woman of my dreams and the music in my life.’’
