A Woman Is Engaged to Her Much Older Teacher Who Gets Mistaken for Her Grandma

At 13, Monica was a ’’teacher’s pet’’ to her favorite teacher Michelle. Years later, the 2 women reunited, and their platonic relationship developed into a passionate romance despite their 25-year age gap. A simple message changed their fate.

In 2004, Michelle Foster taught science to Monica Ketchum’s class. Back then, the teenager looked up to her beloved teacher, noting, ’’Michelle was my seventh-grade teacher, and she was my favorite — I was the teacher’s pet.’’

Despite her strong admiration, no one could imagine how their story would evolve years later.

16 years later, Monica, who became a forklift driver and content creator, decided to reconnect with her teacher on Facebook to see how she was. Monica revealed that, until that point, ’’We didn’t have any relationship besides her being a good teacher.’’

Upon receiving a message from her previous student in April 2020, Foster was really surprised. However, after meeting for lunch in August 2021, the 2 formed a solid connection and grew to become good friends.

Ketchum shared, ’’We sat and had lunch for 5 hours. It was great to catch up.’’ She added that they both happened to be crossing a complicated period and that ’’finding someone you can relate to and be vulnerable with felt safe.’’

Their simple friendship turned into intense passion.

As time passed, their friendship continued to strengthen until they realized that their bond had become romantic. Prior to this, Foster had been in a romantic relationship with a woman, while Ketchum had recently come out as gay.

In May 2022, both women chose to end their previous relationships in order to build a love story together. Foster decided to end her marriage with her wife and subsequently filed for divorce. In September 2022, Ketchum proposed to Foster, and the following month, Foster reciprocated by popping the question to Ketchum.

Today, Monica is 31 and Michelle is 56. Both women have kids from previous marriages, and they are now living together.

Not everyone is a fan of their romance.

Even though they seem like a match made in heaven, they’re being criticized by some people online.

Michelle has even been mistaken for being Monica’s grandmother. However, the young woman insists that the age difference is not an issue for her. She noted, ’’I’ve always been attracted to older people, so the gap wasn’t an issue for me.’’

On the other hand, Foster worried about their 25-year gap at first, but she shared that with time, she ’’had to let it all go’’ in order to live their romance to the fullest.

The science teacher says, ’’It became clear I had to make a choice for myself, and when I did, it was the weight of the world lifted.’’

The beautiful couple is planning to tie the knot in June.
