Angelina Jolie Reveals the Tragic Impact Her Divorce Had on Both Her and Her Kids in a Rare Interview
Angelina Jolie’s kids ’’saved’’ her from heading to ’’much darker’’ places after her split from Brad Pitt. In a rare interview, the mother of six opened up about her personal life, and her words left us even more in awe of her.
Her children are her life.
Jolie and Pitt, who declared they were ending their marriage in 2016 after being together for 12 years, have six children in common: Maddox, 22, Pax, 19, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and the twins Vivienne and Knox, who are 15 years old.
The 48-year-old actress talked about how taking care of her kids during her difficult divorce from Brad Pitt has helped her stay strong all these years.
She noted, ’’I was 26 when I became a mother. My entire life changed. Having children saved me — and taught me to be in this world differently.’’ The Salt actress added, ’’I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them. They’re better than me, because you want your children to be.’’
Things aren’t easy for her.
The star also shared with Vogue that she’s been feeling ’’a bit down’’ recently. She explained, ’’I’m still understanding who I am at 48. I guess I’m in transition as a person. I don’t feel like I’ve been myself for a decade, in a way, which I don’t want to get into.’’
Jolie hinted that things have been tough for her entire family in the last few years without going into too much detail. She admitted that ’’We had a lot of healing to do. We’re still finding our footing.’’
We admire how close Angelina is to all of her children. And recently, it was revealed that the star’s daughter Vivienne is working as her personal assistant, and the news had opinions divided.
