Perpetually Single Diane Keaton, 77, Is Hopeful to Find Love Again, Despite Being on Zero Dates in 15 Years
Diane Keaton is a woman of numerous accomplishments. She has over 5 decades of acting under her belt, an Oscar, many philanthropic achievements, and she’s a mother to 2 adopted kids. And Diane has managed to do it all by herself, as to this day, she’s never been married. The single life has never bothered the actress, but it seems like she might be looking for a new thrill in her life.
While promoting her new romantic movie, Maybe I Do, in which she stars alongside Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere (we can’t wait!), Keaton had to answer a few questions about her love life in accordance with the film’s theme. A confession followed, which surprised the host and all of us — that Keaton hadn’t been on a date in over a decade.
She said, “Let’s [say] 15 years. They probably just thought, ’Enough’s enough ... she’s too weird.’ I’m kind of odd, but I’m doing fine.”
And yet, Keaton still appears hopeful about her future prospects, and even her age of 77 doesn’t seem to bother her. She continued, “Someday, someone will marry me. Maybe one of these nice men that have to deal with me today.”
Previously, the Oscar-winning actress explained that she’d never regretted not getting married. She explained that her maternal instinct was always stronger than finding a soulmate: “The loves of my life are my children and my mother. I don’t feel as if I need a man. Don’t get me wrong, I love men...[but] I have kids and my work. That’s fine with me.”
That being said, Keaton had an active romantic life in the past, so it’s not like she hasn’t explored her options. In the past, she was linked to Woody Allen, Al Pacino, and Warren Beatty. And that’s not including all of her on-screen romances, one of the most notable of which included a kiss with Keanu Reeves. For all we know, Keaton has done it right already, but we wish her luck in the search for a new spark if she chooses to do so.
