Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey Have a Special Friendship, and He Says She’s His “Blessing”

Age is just a number, or so they say. But for Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, it was the magical ingredient that brought them together. With a whopping 29-year age gap between them, these 2 stars might seem like an unlikely duo, but the bond they created while filming The Last of Us is something special.

Even though both Ramsey and Pascal were in Game of Thrones, they were guest-starring in different seasons and didn’t have the chance to meet each other. They were very much just “thrown in” on the scene, but the chemistry was immediately there.

In Ramsey’s opinion, this was done intentionally by The Last of Us creators, so it would match the script, and she thinks it worked really well.

Even though they sort of had to get along, for them, it wasn’t hard at all. In fact, they clicked right away because they liked each other, and that was just the start of one, hopefully, long-lasting friendship.

Pascal believes he and Ramsey are a match made in heaven.

Not only did the duo have impeccable chemistry on-screen, but it was present off-screen too. And they even have nicknames for each other. “Bella Ramsey plays Ellie. I call her ’Bellie.’ And she is my blessing,” Pascal shared in an interview with HBO, adding that he loves her.

Ramsey revealed that their relationship developed as the relationship of their characters, Joel and Ellie, strengthened, and they became good buddies. She calls Pascal “my Pedge.”

They worked together for a year, and their bond became stronger than steel.

By the end of filming The Last of Us, Pascal and Ramsey not only liked each other but knew each other on a deeper level. When there were shots with drones of them horseback riding, they would take their mics off and use that time to chat about life.

When filming for the season ended, Pascal wrote Ramsey a card that said, “How interesting that something so huge and life-changing should happen so early in your life and so late in mine.”

Ramsey identifies as non-binary, and Pascal was very supportive of it.

The pair, deemed a “match made in heaven,” often talked about sexuality and gender on set, and although their conversations “weren’t always that deep,” Ramsey appreciated Pascal’s support. He definitely knows what Ramsey is going through, as his sister, Lux, recently came out as transgender.

Even though distance has come between them, their friendship continues to grow.

Pascal currently lives in Los Angeles, as he’s filming The Mandalorian, and Ramsey misses and loves him very much. But just because they don’t live in the same city doesn’t mean they’ve lost contact. They still check on each other, and recently, Pascal posted an Instagram story of the 2 of them FaceTiming, saying, “I’ll take what I can get.”
