10 Trending Crochet Pieces Fashion People Are Still Wearing This Fall

Scroll through crochet or knitting pages for 5 minutes and you’ll notice something: nobody there is apologizing for their stitches. First sweaters with wonky sleeves, hand-drawn bobble stitch patterns, handmade cardigans finished on pure guesswork, and every maker wears or gifts the result with total self-confidence anyway. That’s not a coincidence this year. Vogue reports that crochet has taken over runways for 2026, moving well past its old “beach cover-up” reputation into more sophisticated, versatile silhouettes at houses like Etro, Isabel Marant, Burberry, and Balmain, proof that handmade texture has genuinely earned its high-fashion moment.
A first cardigan, a mosaic blanket finished just in time, a hexagon sweater from leftover yarn, a sweater built from a self-drawn chart — this kind of handicraft doesn’t need a runway to earn its confidence. We rounded up some of the best crochet creations from the community lately, plus one reader story about a handmade blanket that didn’t get the reaction it deserved right away, but earned it eventually.
“My new bobble stitch tree sweater.”
I drew up a tree chart and then figured out the sizing for a sweater, pattern is my own guesswork. I used a bobble stitch + sc on the bobble rows, and a dc on the ones between. The yarn is Pound of Love, with an H hook. The collar and cuffs are an alternating fpdc/bpdc.

Only your 4th! Wow that's really great work .
Managed to put this blanket together in 1 month! Feeling proud of myself. I know it isn’t as perfect as it could be, but I’m still happy with how it turned out. It’s my 4th crochet project ever.
Beautiful. Very special gift.
That's beautiful and I'm praying that it will be passed down through future generations.

“Finished the sweater I’ve been working on. It was a nice, easy project that went together quicker than I expected.”
Story from a reader.
I crocheted a blanket for my mother-in-law’s birthday. Figured it’d mean more than another blender from the supermarket. It literally took me a month. At dinner she goes, “What yarn is this, the dollar store?” Everyone laughed, except my husband. She just dropped it on her chair and walked off like she’d made some kind of statement.
My 7-year-old picks it up off the chair and basically throws it back at her. I almost lost it, thought here we go, but he just looks up at her and says, “Mama said you like purple more than any color, that’s why she picked it. I helped pick it at the store, it took forever. You don’t like purple no more?”
Desert silence. She stood there holding this blanket as a trophy, staring at the color like she’s never seen it before. And yes, she did say that once, years back, purple being her favorite, I’d really forgotten I ever said it out loud until my kid brought it up in the yarn aisle and wouldn’t let it go.
She said “thank you” and went back to clearing plates.
Yeah she doesn't have anything coming . Dollar store yarn is good expensive yarn . You end up paying about the same as at yarn barn , but in bunch of little packages . Is all . Wow. I love hand made blankets made with love . My mom made me blankets use to any way . Hopefully she makes me another blanky when she retires.
