Beautiful statue but maybe too much honor
Princes William and Harry Unite in a Touching Moment to Unveil a Statue to Honor Their Late Mother, Princess Diana

On July 1, 2021, Princess Diana would have turned 60 years old. On this occasion, Princes Harry and William held a ceremony, revealing a monument to honor the memory of their late mother.
We at Bright Side studied all the details about the event and are excited to show you everything we found.
On July 1 of this year, the princes united to pull a green cloth off the sculpture of their late mother. The statue depicts Princess Diana with her arms around a boy and a girl, along with a third child in the background.
However, it all started in January 2017, when Princes William and Harry commissioned a statue of their late mother to Kensington Palace on the occasion of commemorating the twentieth anniversary of her death. Their statement contained the following words: “Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.”
“The statue aims to reflect the warmth, elegance, and energy of Diana, Princess of Wales, in addition to her work and the impact she had on so many people,” Kensington Palace says.
“The figure of Diana, Princess of Wales, is surrounded by 3 children who represent the universality and generational impact of the princess’ work. The portrait and style of the dress she’s wearing is based on the final period of her life when she gained confidence in her role as an ambassador for humanitarian causes and aims to convey her character and compassion.”
They also shared a very touching message on Instagram:
Today, on what would have been our mother’s sixtieth birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character — qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.
.
Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.
.
Thank you to Ian Rank-Broadley, Pip Morrison, and their teams for their outstanding work, to the friends and donors who helped make this happen, and to all those around the world who keep our mother’s memory alive.
