Some of the drawings work very well but others less. The highlights are in odd areas. When he adds highlights on the corner of the jawline and as part of the makeup on eyelids and lips it looks like airbrush . Mixed with charcoal it creates an interesting g rather extreme contrast. But there are a few that dont succeed, the one drawing of a face in profile with a pink miss piggy nose(?))(highlights on the rim of the nostril).
So I think used in moderation, it can be an interesting combo.
An Artist Creates Pencil Drawings and Makes Them Glow With Life
A Mexican artist, Enrique Bernal, has found a unique way to make his pencil drawings shine with mystery. He cleverly adds digital light to different parts of his sketches. This unique blending of both modern and traditional techniques helps him flatter bodies and faces, make butterflies and tattoos come to life, and doesn’t let us take our eyes off of them.
We at Bright Side chose 15 glowing sketches and invite you to judge how cool they are.

These are amazing, the artist didn't overdo on the extra colors so it fits just perfectly
8 is my favorite! which is yours?
I once saw an artist doing this kind of drawing and they're to die for. They're simple but still got their own personality! Good job Enrique
As interesting as his work is... His art isn't unique. I've seen the same effect done time and time again with artists. Artists who have had an internet presence longer and posted work of the same caliber. It's interesting but not unique. Take Angel Ganev for example. While he doesn't stay to a full realistic art style, the highlights are the same as they were done digitally with the same effect. It's not original and certainly not unique.
