Illustrator Leaves Office to Draw Daily Struggles, and the Result Is Painfully True

Humor is a great way to live longer — and we barely need anything to do it. Our life can be full of laughter and being able to see our problems from a humorous angle is always appreciated. And Clare Kayden Hines, a talented illustrator, knows this for sure.
She lacked creativity at her job so she began to illustrate an alter ego who she says “reflected the tension between everything I was ’supposed’ to do and everything I actually wanted to do. She became my comedic release.”
“A lot of my inspiration comes from observations or funny things that happen in my own life. My illustrations are my way of finding humor in all types of situations, from the mundane (not wanting to talk on the phone) to the existential (feeling dead inside at my job), and making them universal and relatable.”
We at Bright Side are ready to show you Clare’s art that, quite frankly, is about all of us. It can boost your mood and more importantly, change your attitude about some of life’s struggles.
