As you get older, all of a sudden, you begin to appreciate relationships, be understanding about the foibles of life, more forgiving — and you’ve got more time for the kids. It makes for a much happier marriage and family environment.”

He remarked, “These days, I am consumed with being a father and with my responsibilities as a husband. I never anticipated starting a family at my age. I cherish this time.”

But it wasn’t just tough for him, it was also hard on his little girl, Carys, who had to face ridicule and judgmental glances from people. Growing up with her dad, she got used to hearing remarks like, “Your grandpa has come to pick you up.”

Despite the hurtful comments, Carys always saw her father as her ordinary dad, regardless of his age or fame. Throughout her entire upbringing, she had no inkling of his celebrity status, as he was not accustomed to being in the spotlight.

“I thought my dad was a pancake maker,” she confessed. “I didn’t know he was an actor. Honestly.”
