Why So Many Smart and Gorgeous Women Stay Single for Years

You’ve probably asked your gorgeous friend so many times, why she is single and not in a rush to have a family. She might joke around about this topic, but the roots of the problem are much deeper. More and more beautiful and smart girls prefer to not be in relationships. About 50.2 percent of Americans are single, which is approximately 124.6 million people, and there are more single than married women in the US.

Bright Side decided to study this problem and find answers why it happens.

1. Modern women are independent.

Women have been fighting for their rights and are changing the world. More and more women get jobs that are on par or better than men and become independent. They don’t need to ask men anymore for help with physical work because they can simply call a service and pay money. And sometimes it is faster than waiting for your husband to fix a problem.

2. Women are starting to respect their freedom and free time more.

So now instead of cooking at home for a husband and several kids after office work, women just prefer to spend their time on themselves. It seems more attractive to go to a spa, a beauty salon, shopping or a master class of self-development, than to take care of kids or clean up after a man.

3. Women are becoming more emotionally stable.

When people tell jokes about strong single women with cats, it is actually not a joke. Women have become stronger, more emotionally stable, and more educated. The modern world gives them approximately the same opportunities as guys. It affects their psychology. You are not afraid to stay single without a means of sustenance. You would be better off waiting for an equal person, than sharing a bed with a man who you don’t love or don’t respect.

4. Modern women started liking alternative relationships.

Nowadays we are not afraid to show our preferences in relationships. We can live as we see fit and nobody will judge us like before when we pick a partner of the same gender or have a free relationship. Obviously, this leads to people not getting married and just living together instead.

5. Modern women have very high standards.

When you earn your own money, have a degree or 2, take care of your appearance, and develop yourself in other fields, you expect a man who won’t bring you down to a lower level of your life. You can’t accept a man who doesn’t appreciate your efforts. It is not possible to tolerate low standards, because they can’t bring you a better life. It’s easier to stay single and continue to just take care of yourself.

6. Men are more afraid to meet beautiful and smart women.

When men see a beautiful, independent, and smart woman, they are not as enthusiastic about taking the first step, because they think that this amazing woman can’t possibly be single. Plus no one wants to get turned down. And most of the women will never take the first step, because they already do enough by themselves in their life.

7. Modern women don’t believe in fairytales anymore.

Yes, the level of trust of a woman toward a man is much lower because of modern standards and the era of consumption. Nobody wants to have a broken heart, and how many stories have we heard about women being betrayed? We’ve watched movies since childhood where a woman is a self-made business lady who runs her own company or is just super successful at work in general. The modern world gives us modern priorities and we accept them.

This article is offending. Who wrote this article is obviously beeing paid to fuel sepparation between women and men. Trying to sell the "modern woman" image wich is a trend manipulated individuals, with no firm roots identity.. Only shallow "modern" ways of beeing..wich is your perfect buyer of 3k Luis Viiton bags trying to fill the emptiness. Women.. Be who you thought you were as a little girl... Love and be simple...Strip off masks and be vulnerable.. That's real power! He will come to meet you there!

We girls are waiting for men to catch up with us ,woman have evolved in leaps in the last 50years but men are lagging behind

I am an independent Beautiful lady, and my experiences of the Daily guys in their Young twenties that have come up to me are not mature. GENERALLY speaking They have low respect for women and i have come from emotionally abusive relationship :(. I am really upset about my experience and Think that i really did deserve better than that. It has formed me to a strong and very independent woman because of that. I never take for granted what Young guys tell me, because i am not looking for a guy, i am looking to date a man. And day after day i usually (NOT ALL), see ugly fake Girls with perfect boyfriends who just are some immature guy that absolutely loves them. However, if you are an independent and Beautiful woman do not expect the best from guys and prepare to take care of your self for a hell of a long time as the dating Culture in this World is so fucked up. WHere you cannot be yourself for whatever strange reason if you are going to date. I do not date guys because i never find a real man, a real man to me is a person with masculine gender that no matter what respects women even if they Think they dont behave right to attract their attention. That is no excuse to disrespect a woman, and if a guy starts flirting with a girl and invite her out it is within his GODDAMN responsibility to tell her that he is no interested in a relationship anyore. RESPECT WOMAN, and as i respect my time and only have one Life i try to live it doing goals, Daily stuff, animal rights whatever because Life is too short to Think about how fucked up dating within this World seriously is and how sad it is :( . Cannot at least respect be included? Apparently not.

As a man I believe that a lack of respect for religion and it’s scriptures and ridiculous societal laws which aid to fade-away Christian values are to blame. For example I make about 25k per year and I don’t wear fancy 👞 or South Pole 👕 or drive a sporty 🚘. So when I approach a beautiful woman who may earn more💰 than I do. I ask her if I could take her out I get looks like I’m crazy or something perhaps cause I’m not wearing a suit? IDK but I always be respectful to women when they turn me down and say thank you for your time and I’m sorry for bothering you. Still I’m single and a average looking man I ain’t no Billy Dee Williams or Tom Cruise.

Independent women also have an attitude problem. They love their freedom but in other side they want to restrict their men. That is the major reason they are single in great number.

This article is totally a piece of PSEUDO-FEMINIST MISANDRIST SH*T...I didn't expect bright side to post such bulls**t...the girl who's written this is totally an IMMATURE POOPFACE who's envious of all the successful guys around her...nobody is completely independent in this world...period...most are inder-dependent and a few are totally dependent on sombody...
Statistically speaking less than 5% American women are COMPLETELY independent on maintaining their individual standard of living...
.If *being independent* is making women to stay single then such type of women are basically GOLD DIGGERS cuz their only intent of having a rel was money & as they've got *independent* there's no reason for them to be in a rel..
PURE relationships are about love and not money.
A woman who wants LOVE would be in a rel REGARDLESS of her dependency status...!
