It’s no secret that every little detail of our lives affects us in one way or another. The way we hold ourselves, think of ourselves and take care of ourselves are essential to our appearance. It is important to remember that our everyday habits affect us the most.

We at Bright Side have collected vivid examples of how much our habits affect the way we look.

Not washing your makeup off

Our skin, like the whole body, should rest, and its renewal and regeneration process happens at night. But our skin can’t tell us that, which is why we receive signals of its tiredness.
Acne, inflammation, irritation, allergic rashes or other defects on the skin are a consequence of the fact that our pores are clogged with particles that remain on the surface at night. That’s why removing makeup and exfoliating is necessary since it removes these dead particles.

Giving up alcohol

This person looks so blissful on the right because that day marked 7 months of his sobriety. He’s getting better sleep without alcohol and eating healthier because he doesn’t need to snack while drinking his beer. Most importantly, there is no more damage to his brain.

Washing your hair too often

Dermatologists unanimously do not recommend washing your hair frequently. Hair is made of fiber and if you compare it with wool fiber, the same rule works: the more often it is washed, the worse it will look over time.

If daily hygiene procedures are necessary, then the right hair care products will help to reduce its harm.

Drinking enough water

It is extremely important that an adult drinks half a gallon or 1.8 liters of water daily. If you do that, in just a month, you’ll be able to see a more even skin tone, less acne on your face, and fewer wrinkles due to dryness. You will also notice your body feeling much healthier overall as water flushes toxins out of your system That’s why hydration is so important!

Taking vitamins

Vitamins are an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. However, it is quite hard to get all the needed elements solemnly from your food alone. Taking vitamins that are prescribed to you by a doctor is extremely important.

Caring about your appearance too much

This woman says she couldn’t find happiness because of controlling beauty and bodybuilding standards. Instead, she found true enjoyment when she let herself go and stopped overthinking about the way she looked in the eyes of other people. Look at her smile in the second picture — that’s what happiness looks like.
