Newlyweds With 61-Year Age Gap Are Undergoing IVF to Have a Baby, So That He Can Be a Dad for the First Time

Miracle and Charles have a 61-year difference in age, but this couple is not allowing the decades that separate them to get in the way of their love. The newlyweds have even pledged to start a family, despite Charles being 13 years older than his wife’s grandad. How they met

Miracle Pogue, aged 24, and Charles Pogue, who is 85 years old, met while she was working at a laundromat in 2019 and the pair quickly became close friends.

Miracle explained that Charles, who is a retired real estate agent, would come in with only one item of clothing, and his only request would be for her to assist him. She noted, ’’One day he waltzed in there and threw a piece of paper down and said: ’Write down your number.’ He was my knight in shining armor.’’

They didn’t allow age to become an obstacle.

The young woman explained that Charles had a “good vibe going.” She says that he made her feel comfortable.

Miracle revealed that she knew Charles was older, but she did not know his exact age. And when she did eventually discover how old he was, 2 months had already passed and she “had feelings for him.”
She explained, ’’He was my baby, and he wasn’t going anywhere.’’

The young bride further explains that her husband’s age doesn’t really matter to her. She emphasizes, “I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good.” She added, “He’s always up and active.”

Not everybody accepted their relationship at first.

Miracle stated that her mom Tamika, 45, and grandfather Joe, 72, were supportive of their relationship from the beginning, as they observed the joy Charles brought her. However, her father Kareem, 47, was more difficult to convince.

She explained, “My grandad said if I was happy, and it’s what I want to do, then he’s happy. My dad was like, ’No ma’am, not at all.’” However, her father ended up accepting the situation otherwise, he would’ve “lost his daughter.”

Miracle admitted, “I told him I needed his support and to walk me down the aisle. Once he got to meet Charles and talk to him, he loved him.” And in the end, the 24-year-old got her perfect wedding, and she describes it as the “best day” of her life.

They want to start a family.

Miracle explains that people criticize them online for their big age gap, but it “doesn’t make a difference.” She even revealed that they are “looking forward to starting a family together” and that she hopes to have 2 children with Charles, who doesn’t have any kids.

She noted, “I want him to have another generation. We’re looking to go to an IVF clinic to talk about our options.”

The young woman admitted that their IVF journey isn’t an easy one and that she found the experience at the clinic to be “quite overwhelming.”

However, Miracle is willing to ignore those challenges by choosing to stay positive and hopeful. She says, “Now I’m forgetting it as long as they give me my baby. Maybe Charles’s age will stop us from having children, but I have an open mind. It may not work.”
