A year later, the then 64-year-old Quaid met Laura, a 25-year-old doctoral student in Economics, during a business event, and their love seemed to be written in the stars from the get-go.

It was love at first sight

The pair started dating in May 2019 and got engaged 5 months later. In June 2020, the private couple eloped to Santa Barbara to tie the knot with the pastor as their only guest attending the intimate ceremony.
