Many of the most talented actors of our time have given breathtaking performances that blew us away. But many times, we fail to notice the hard work they put in behind the scenes, some going as far as to come up with unique lines and adding a degree of reality to films. These 9 instances in films weren’t written in the script, but they were so good, they were included in the final version.

Titanic: The “I’m the king of the world” and “spitting like a man” scenes were improvised.

The iconic “I’m the king of the world!” line said by Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in Titanic is probably recognizable to many, but those words were never actually in the script. The screenwriter and director of the movie, James Cameron, revealed that those lines were made up during filming. DiCaprio wasn’t sure about the line, but it ended up becoming synonymous with the film itself.

Another important scene that wasn’t written in the script was Jack teaching Kate how to “spit like a man.” The director actually let the actors completely improvise the entire scene, so everything we see during this scene all came from the actors themselves.

The Godfather: The cat was added to the scene randomly.

In The Godfather, a very chilling scene in the opening of the movie features a cat. The cat was actually a stray that wandered on set, and the director, Francis Coppola, handed Marlon Brando the cat to hold without explanation. The cat’s loud purring almost ruined the scene, but made the final cut.

Fans of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark will remember how one of the villains, Rene Belloq, appeared to let a fly crawl into his mouth during a scene. The actor, Paul Freeman, revealed that the fly landed on his face, but he didn’t want to lose focus on the scene. Later, the post-production team edited it to look like it crawled into his mouth as a subtle detail.

During a scene in Stars Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back when Princess Leia confesses to Hans Solo that she loves him, the original reply to that was “I love you too.” But Harrison Ford thought that saying, “I know,” would be funnier and more suitable for his character.

The 1987 film featuring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey has a scene where the 2 main characters crawl toward one another during a dance rehearsal. The scene wasn’t planned, and the footage was of the actors warming up. But the director loved the scene so much that he kept it in the movie.

Avengers: Endgame: Thor remaining heavier throughout the movie

Avengers: Endgame introduced Thor as we had never seen him. The character was much heavier than before and quickly became a fan favorite. However, Chris Hemsworth revealed that the initial plan had been to reduce his weight toward the middle of the movie, but he fought to keep him the same till the very end.
