Following Ruined Wedding Plans, a Couple Gets Married on a Plane
Every person has dreamt about their wedding day since they were a young child. We picture ourselves gearing up and making that day memorable as we tie the knot with our long-term partner. However, getting married on an aircraft is an entirely different tale. That’s precisely what happened to Pam and Jeremy when they sealed their forever union while flying on a plane bound for Las Vegas.
They were supposed to wed in Las Vegas.
It was only a joke when Jeremy and Pam first considered getting married in Las Vegas. But it turned out to be everything but a joke when they planned their trip. They meticulously planned every detail, from booking the airline tickets to reserving the chapel where they would exchange vows.
This is how their story began, according to how Southwest Airlines reported it on their Facebook page. The post read, “Pam and Jeremy joked that they should hop on a plane to get married in Vegas. It wasn’t long before both realized the other wasn’t kidding, so they booked a flight with a Vegas wedding chapel appointment Sunday night.”
Something inconvenient occurred at the last minute.
Everything was set for the fabulous day as Jeremy and Pam headed to the airport, all suited up in their wedding attire. The pair took a plane from Oklahoma City to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where they would later catch a connecting flight to Las Vegas.
Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out as they had planned, and a startling incident derailed all their plans.
While standing near their gate in full wedding attire, they made an awful discovery. Indeed, it turned out they had canceled their connecting flight. The frustration was mounting as they realized that their grand scheme to get married in Vegas would not go as expected and that their efforts would be wasted.
However, while we sometimes have to face setbacks in life, destiny proved it wanted Jeremy and Pam to realize their wedding dream somehow.
A surprising turning point
They discussed the possibility of missing their wedding when Chris, a passing traveler, overheard their conversation. Being an ordained minister, he asserted that he could marry them in Las Vegas. Then the 3 of them purchased the last 3 seats on the next Southwest flight heading to Vegas.
Fortunately, they managed to secure their seats on Southwest Airlines Flight 2690, which was departing from the opposite side of the city in 50 minutes. Just like in a movie, Chris and the couple rushed to the other airport.
As the bride describes it, “We get in an Uber, and we tell him, like, ’Look, we’ve got to get to Love Field. Floor it,’ and he did. He’s driving through the rain. It was awesome. We get there, and we’re running through security, me in the dress. He’s pulling the bags. And we get up to the gate, like literally as it’s about to start boarding.”
However, Jeremy and Pam would not go unnoticed in their wedding gear, so the moment they got on the plane, all eyes were on them.
The Aircraft company reported, “As they boarded the flight, their Pilot, Captain Gil, noticed Pam’s wedding dress and asked her about it. Pam explained their story and joked with Captain Gil that they should just get married on the flight. For the second time that week, Pam was surprised to hear the words, ’Let’s do it!’”
An “I do” declared from the clouds
Leaving their houses that morning, neither one of them imagined the surprising twist that day would have. But the greatest things always happen when you least expect them, and surely enough, they got married on that plane.
Everyone started setting the scene. The flight crew hung toilet paper streamers and served snack mix. Meanwhile, a flight attendant served as maid of honor, and a photographer on board shot photographs.
The airline also prepared a sweet present for the newlyweds. They explained, “Another passenger passed around an old notebook for the whole cabin to sign with good wishes and their seat numbers, which was given to the bride and groom as a makeshift guestbook.”
On the Southwest plane, Pam went down the aisle to wed her beloved. Everything fell away, but that made the day even more memorable. “All these little things just kind of fell into place,” the bride claimed.
Despite the bizarre circumstances, that wedding atmosphere affected everyone on the plane. “They said their vows, and it was really cute,” a flight attendant gushed. “She said all these kinds of little airplane things, like ’I’ll be your co-pilot.’”
Jeremy and Pam eventually got married, providing themselves and every passenger with a memory-making moment. “Congrats to the newlyweds on a memorable inflight wedding neither our employees nor passengers are likely to forget!” the company wrote as they closed this touching story.

Is it me or does the bride have a bit of a Kate Hudson look to her?
I agree, she does look similar. I think it's in her eyes and smile 😃.
