Halle Berry’s Skin Guru Shares Tips on How to Look Ageless
If you need some professional tips on how to improve your beauty routine, Olga Lorencin is the one who can help you. She has spent over 20 years working in skin care and studying cosmetic ingredients. Celebrities like Halle Berry have entrusted her with their beauty routines and we can definitely see the results.
We at Bright Side keep track of great beauty trends and would love to share some secrets that Olga Lorencin revealed to us.
1. For oily skin
A good option for treating oily skin is a mask made with vitamin C serum. But after applying it, you should skip the massage because you’ll increase oil production. Lorencin suggests adding a little bit of charcoal to your at-home mask as well.
Pay attention to what kind of moisturizer you use. Some of them may contain oil and you don’t need it for oily skin.
2. For sensitive skin
Sensitive skin needs calming and soothing ingredients. Lorencin says that products with herbal extracts like chamomile or oatmeal are excellent in this case because of their anti-inflammatory qualities. She suggests avoiding oils, except for rosehip and pomegranate oil. Both have desirable calming, healing, and hydrating effects.
The expert notes that if you have sensitive skin, you shouldn’t be afraid of acids and exfoliation. When you get rid of dead skin, your face becomes less sensitive and more hydrated. The only thing is that the acids should be mild, milky, and creamy.
3. For dry and normal skin
The beauty guru explains that you should massage and apply masks to dry, normal skin. Start your at-home facial massage with coconut oil and apply it in a circular, upward motion. As a bonus, you can also add some high-quality vitamin C serum. Then, generously apply a dry-skin mask.
Instead of applying it with a brush or “painting” it with the fingers, massage it into your skin. Then, apply one more layer and leave it on for an additional 15 minutes. It’s important not to let your mask dry out because it will draw moisture from the skin.
4. For combination skin
A moisturizer with oil can clog your pores. By applying it to combination skin you risk getting even greater oil production in some areas of your face. Look for an oil-free moisturizer that contains lactic acid which can improve your skin’s moisture and refine enlarged pores.
5. For your eyes and lips
Eyes and lips need special treatment because they have considerably more sensitive skin. Here is one of Olga Lorencin’s favorite recipes:
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1/4 teaspoon of egg yolk
- A few drops of olive oil or coconut oil
Just mix it together and apply it around the eyes in a circular motion above your lips. Leave it there for 15 minutes and then rinse your face.
6. For your clean face
Wipes can’t replace a facial cleanser. You can use them to remove lingering eye makeup while hydrating the skin. This is what Olga recommends to do:
- First, give your face a deep cleansing.
- Then moisturize with a wipe. You can press the moisturizing towelette into the skin. It creates more circulation. If you have a lot of makeup around your eyes, use the wipes to remove excess makeup.
7. For summertime
Lorencin doesn’t recommend using scrubs or brushes during summer months because the skin gets damaged from the extra sun exposure. Instead, she suggests trying this DIY exfoliation:
- Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with egg yolk.
- Massage this mixture into your face for 2 minutes.
- Rinse your face.
The acid in the lemon juice will gently exfoliate your skin so it doesn’t become damaged.
Here is a recipe for a gentle, soothing mask that can help you not to overload your skin during summer:
- Mix equal parts of manuka honey and full-fat plain yogurt. Lorencin adds that no fruit is needed.
- Apply it in a thick layer to your face.
- Wait for 20 minutes.
This can restore your skin’s natural PH balance.
Bonus: Halle Berry says that face masks are everything.
Halle Berry loves facial masks and personally recommends Olga Lorencin since she’s a guru of skincare. The actress calls her masks “ageless.” We compared how the actress looked 28 years ago and now, so you can decide for yourself how effective Lorencin’s treatments are.
