First of all, it was not your place to discuss this issue with your step-daughter. You should have discussed it with your husband. You should have tried to discover how HE felt about the added expenses created by his daughter's return, as he was the sole provider. Stay in your lane, & things will go more smoothly. There is nothing you can do, until or unless your step-daughter renews contact with you or her dad. I don't blame her father for being angry & upset. I hold you to blame for the insinuation that your step-daughter shouldn't have come back home when she needed help.
