“I Was Being Pushed,” The Tragic Reason Why Priyanka Chopra Left Bollywood Despite Her Success
Priyanka Chopra, a former Bollywood actress, shared the reasons behind her move to Hollywood despite her success as a Bollywood actress. This bold decision has played a pivotal role in shaping her current position.
Complicated issues with people from the industry.
Priyanka Chopra, the iconic Miss World 2000 winner, achieved tremendous success in her native India, building a flourishing acting career. Despite her stardom, she made the bold decision to shift to Hollywood, a move that showcased her resilience and determination.
Acknowledging her challenges in Bollywood, Chopra revealed, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry.” She struggled with casting issues and interpersonal conflicts and recognized the need for a break.
“I had people not casting me, I had beef with people,” Chopra added. At that point, she realized the fight was no longer worth it.
Career break then a new door was opened.
Taking a hiatus from her Indian acting career, she seized an opportunity to venture into the American music industry, signing a contract with Interscope Records in the early 2010s.
Reflecting on this shift, Chopra shared, “When this music thing came, I was like, you know what, I’m going to go to America.”
Collaborating with artists like Pitbull and Will.i.Am, she discovered that her true talents lay in acting rather than music. As a result, she began pursuing roles in Hollywood because, in her own words, she felt like she was “having trouble back home anyway just being cast in the kind of movies that I wanted to be cast in.”
Her Hollywood momentum.
Driven by the desire to break free from the constraints hindering her in Bollywood, she embraced Hollywood. In 2015, Priyanka secured the lead role in the series Quantico, a pivotal moment that defined her career. She recalled, ’’That one audition at that phase in my life really defined me.’’
Since then, she has thrived in Hollywood, gracing the screens in blockbuster films such as Baywatch and The Matrix Resurrections.
She also found love after moving to Hollywood and starting a romance with Nick Jonas. Priyanka Chopra reminisced about when she was crowned Miss World in 2000 while her future husband, Nick Jonas, was merely a seven-year-old boy.
