They were both smitten with each other and since then, their love has been stronger than ever. However, one innocent Happy Birthday post on Instagram caused a major stir among fans.

Their love started with a “silly” conversation.

The couple met in 2006 and didn’t even know that their chit-chat would flourish into something serious. Salma recollects, “It was so silly. We started talking about football. We’re both crazy about soccer. Then we started talking about science. We love space and physics, and he was so smart, charming, and funny.” Only later did she realize that Francois-Henri was her perfect match.

They have a big family.

Salma and Francois-Henri have 4 kids — she’s a stepmom to 3 kids from her husband’s previous relationship. The actress believes she got blessed with them. Hayek also has one biological child, Valentina, who she gave birth to at the age of 41. The star opens up, “I always wanted to have many children, and I wasn’t able to. My body, as a miracle, had one.”

The age gap is actually not that big.

It might seem like Francois-Henri is much older than Salma, yet, in fact, the difference is only 4 years — Salma is 56 and was born in 1966, while her husband is 61 and was born in 1962. So he’s neither her “dad” nor “grandpa.”

I meet him, and I’m like, ‘this guy is so foxy, the confidence, his eyes, he’s so good-looking and charming.’ When I married him, everybody said, ‘It’s an arranged marriage, she’s marrying him for the money’ I’m like, ‘Whatever, think what you want.’ I don’t even get offended.”
