John Cena, 46, Is Happily Child-Free, Because He Doesn’t Want to Choose Between a Kid and His Wife
The famous wrestler turned actor, John Cena, and his wife are enjoying a marriage without kids and, at this point, see no reason to change their cozy lifestyle. We’ve decided to investigate why exactly everyone’s loveable hunk has chosen a child-free life, and perhaps you may discover that his reasons resonate with you as well.
He married his second wife very quickly.
Cena has been married to his second wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, since October 2020. The 2 met on the set of the wrestler’s movie, Playing with Fire (2019), and after only a year and a half of dating, the couple got hitched in secret.
Shortly before the happy date, Cena tweeted, “When you are truly ready to let love in and give to love all it needs to flourish, I feel there is no greater more rewarding connection.” 2 years later, Cena and Shariatzadeh had a proper ceremony to celebrate their love once again.
He made it clear that children are not a part of his plan.
As far as expanding their family goes, Cena is in no rush. The Peacemaker star said that since his acting career has skyrocketed, he’s been rather busy and is really loving his current situation. “I really enjoy my life. I have been riding a lightning bolt for quite some time now. I have been given opportunities to do and see things that, man, I didn’t even dream of, and I had some pretty lofty dreams.”
Cena added that everything in his life, including being the best husband he can be, is taking a lot out of him, so he doesn’t have much else to give to other aspirations. “It’s hard work. It’s hard work to balance the time I need to run myself correctly. It’s hard work to be the best partner and husband I can be to my loving wife. It’s hard to keep connections with those in my life that I love.”
Interestingly, the 46-year-old actor believes he’d do really well as a parent, but it’s not a good enough excuse for him to pursue that, as he explains, “I think just because you might be good at something, for me, is not a strong enough reason to do that. You have to have a passion for it. You have to have fuel for it.”
However, the “kids” conversation is not entirely off the table.
Even though mentally Cena is nowhere close to starting a family with Shariatzadeh at the moment, there are reports that children aren’t completely out of the question for the couple.
As a close source shared, “He said for so long that he didn’t want kids but now he’s warming to the idea more and more. They’ll go with the flow but it’s different with Shay, he feels wiser and more ready for the responsibility. It’s something they’d both love, for sure.”
