Most of us would agree that our passport photos aren’t really that flattering. But this notion was taken to the next level with this passenger who was about to miss their flight because of how different their old photo looked compared to their present physique.

Tomi Grainger was going to fly from Sydney to Tokyo when things took a very unexpected turn as the electronic system failed to identify Grainger’s face from their passport photo.
So the Aussie nearly missed their flight because the airport security officials had to stop and interrogate them.

Tomi, who is now 29 years old, openly acknowledges having undergone plastic surgery, resulting in a significant difference in appearance compared to the 22-year-old depicted in their passport. This is what raised concerns among airport officials.

Soon after the incident happened, Tomi shared a video describing the harrowing experience, which has gained widespread attention, accumulating over 100,000 views and triggering a lively online discussion.

In the video, they noted ’’You would not believe what just happened to me at Sydney Airport, and I’m low-key freaking out. My heart is still pounding,’’

In an effort to address the situation, Tomi approached the officials and clarified the matter by explaining that they had undergone plastic surgery, including a facelift.

Luckily, the issue was solved, and Tomi could take their flight.

Many people advised Tomi to update their passport photo and understood the airport staff’s reaction.
