Meet Ninette —an inspirational 55-year-old Canadian grandmother. She harnessed the strength of powerlifting to triumph over a heartbreaking divorce. In this article, we’ll tell you not only about Sarah’s exceptional powerlifting skills but also about her intriguing dating history and the one dating rule she vows to never break.
Her 24-year-old marriage ended suddenly.
Ninette Longsworth, a resilient and determined woman, is known as a devoted mother of three to her loved ones. Her world was shattered back in 2018 when her marriage unexpectedly ended, leaving her devastated, just a day after celebrating her 24th wedding anniversary.
“I found myself single. We had just celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary, but a day later, it all ended,” she explained.
“We had met in high school and started dating when I was only 19 years old. It was a rollercoaster ride; ups and downs and many trials that went along with being young parents,” Ninette added.
Fitness helped Ninette overcome heartbreak.
To help cope with the heartbreak, she turned to fitness as therapy. Although always active, she kicked her regimen into high gear, stepping into the world of weightlifting for the first time. Dedication and discipline became her guiding forces.
Now, at 55, Ninette is a force to be reckoned with. She works out an impressive five to six times a week, fearlessly tackling the weights. With her astonishing strength, she can effortlessly lift a staggering 200 lbs, defying all expectations.
Ninette’s hard work and determination have not gone unnoticed, as she has earned several powerlifting records in Canada, solidifying her place as a true trailblazer in the world of strength sports. “I’m now a competitive powerlifter holding Canadian records in my age and weight class,” she shared.
She is a hopeless romantic.
Despite facing heartbreak and the challenges of being single for years, Ninette remains a hopeful and devoted believer in true love. She longs for the kind of love depicted in movies like “The Notebook,” a love that transcends time and circumstance. In her own words, “But I am looking for that ’true love.’ The Notebook kind of love. I believe in fate, and whoever I’m meant to be will find me.”
“I will wait for the one who truly deserves my light and will encourage it to shine bright,” said the grandmother. “In the meantime, I live my best life. I am free to do as I please. I make sure I take care of me, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and include laughter every day.”
She has a strict dating rule that she would never break.
Believing deeply in the power of love as an energy exchange, Ninette holds it as a precious thing that should only be shared with someone extraordinary. “Only someone very special deserves that,” she emphasizes with unwavering conviction.
Despite her desire for a meaningful relationship, she takes matters of the heart very seriously and does not casually date. “I take relationships very seriously, and I play for keeps, so I don’t actively date,” she affirms.
For Ninette, love is not a game, and commitments should be taken seriously, so she has set strict criteria for potential partners. “I would never date anyone half my age, which would be around 27,” she states firmly.
“My rule is no one younger than my son, who will be 35 this year.” Ninette’s commitment to finding genuine and enduring love is unwavering, and the right person will undoubtedly come along to share in her journey.
As Ninette continues to wait for the right person to share her life with, across the globe, another grandmother is making headlines for a very different reason. In a shocking twist, another grandmother gave birth to her son’s baby, leaving many questioning the situation.
