Curiosities

We’ve all found ourselves in situations that just left us scratching our heads in confusion. These kinds of situations can be both frustrating and fascinating, leaving us with a sense of curiosity and wonder about the world around us. Most of the time, these strange and mysterious occurrences have surprisingly simple truths.

1. Ferromagnetic particles on cellphones

“I put my phone down at the beach. This happened because the beach contains lots of ferromagnetic particles.”

2. “Falcon 9 Launch as seen from Puerto Rico

This UFO-looking flying object and the light sphere from it are not extraterrestrials. It’s SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket after the launch.

3. Horse on the second floor.

At first glance, this confusing image looks like there’s a horse inside of an apartment. But when taking a closer look, it’s visible that the horse in the picture is just a very realistic horse-shaped lamp.

4. Gray hair in the exhaust of a car

No, it’s not a grey wig or someone’s hair stuck in the exhaust muffler. It’s called muffler hair, usually, this happens when mufflers are at the end of their lifespan, and they are about to break.

5. “Mickey’s weirder brother”

This Mickey Mouse costume looks like one straight from a horror movie. In reality, the eye part of the costume is cut-out, so the person inside can see through without a problem.

6. Feather ice

“Surface hoarfrost” is a type of frost that forms on the side of objects facing the wind and on planes flying from colder to warmer air layers. One specific form of surface hoarfrost is known as “Ice feathers,” which consists of individual columnar ice crystals. These crystals can grow at different angles, creating a delicate and intricate pattern of tiny crystals.

7. “This bird arranged some pinecones and sat in the middle.”

Nope, these are not pinecones. The bird gathered magnolia seed pods on the ground to crack and eat them. They can be easily confused with pinecones since they look similar.

8. Chocolate in a video game security-lock

Staff often security-locks high-end items in stores to prevent theft. This can also be seen in supermarkets as well, where theft is frequent. Staff is forced to security-lock easily stolen items like chocolates and pistachios.

9. “My son and I have the same 2-freckle spot on our hands.”

The presence of the same spot birthmarks on a father and child is most likely accidental and does not have any particular meaning behind it. Birthmarks are generally considered happening by chance. While there is some evidence that certain types of birthmarks may run in families.

10. “Cleaning a family’s house and I found mushrooms growing on their blankets.”

This image seems like it’s from a horror movie, but sadly it’s from a real-life situation. If you leave a wet towel unattended for a long period of time, it can provide a favorable environment for mold and mushrooms to grow. Therefore, it’s important to be aware that a damp towel can become a breeding ground for these microorganisms.
