People Voted for the Best Fictional Pet They Would Like to Have, and It’s Not Even Scooby-Doo

When we watch a cartoon or a movie where the heroes have unusual pets with superpowers, we often wish we had a pet like that. The Ranker website offered people a chance to vote for the best animal characters from movies, cartoons, comics, and books that they would like to have as their pets in real life. Cats, dogs, birds, monkeys, and even tigers made the cut — and they ended up with a big list of popular fictional animals that we adore, with quite an unexpected hero at the top.
Here at Bright Side, we want to share the top 20 animals with you from this poll, and we wonder if you’ll find this list as surprising as we did.
20th place: Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web
19th place: Sven from Frozen
18th place: Lassie from Lassie
17th place: Figaro from Pinocchio
16th place: Shadow from Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
15th place: Garfield from Garfield
14th place: Buckbeak from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
13th place: Pluto from Disney movies
12th place: Bolt from Bolt
11th place: Rajah from Aladdin
10th place: Pikachu from the Pokémon movies
9th place: Abu from Aladdin
8th place: Pascal from Tangled
7th place: Hobbes from Calvin and Hobbes comics
6th place: Hedwig from Harry Potter movies and novels
5th place: Scooby-Doo from the Scooby-Doo movies
4th place: Snoopy from the Peanuts comics
3rd place: Stitch from Lilo & Stitch
2nd place: Dug from Up
1st place: Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon
Which of these creatures would you like to actually own and why? Would you add any other fictional animal characters to this list?
