8 Stars Who Prove Mothers Are Real Warriors

year ago

Sometimes motherhood can be taken for granted. But there is no denying the fact that mothers really do make the biggest sacrifices for their children, even before they are born. In fact, research shows that pregnancy changes a mother’s body at the cellular level. This means that, other than the physical changes that come with giving birth, mothers also go through molecular changes.

We at Bright Side admire the mothers that do so much for their children, and we collected a list of celebrities who prove how deeply a mother’s love runs.

1. Ashley Graham

Mother of 3, Ashley Graham, has been very open with the struggles she has faced in her journey through motherhood. After the birth of her first son, she struggled with her new body and was initially taken aback by all the changes that occurred. But eventually, she realized: “This is not just a battle wound. This is something that has changed my life forever, and I’m going to celebrate my new body.”

2. Halsey

The singer gave birth to a beautiful son in 2021, but struggled with previous pregnancies due to suffering from endometriosis. Because of their condition, giving birth was a very painful process. In an Instagram post, Halsey shared how much their body changed after giving birth, saying: “I do not want to feed the illusion that you’re meant to feel and look ‘great’ immediately postpartum.”

Yet another reason to love Blake Lively is how she has spoken up many times about the unrealistic standards mothers are held to. “I think a woman’s body after having a baby is pretty amazing.” She shared, after receiving many comments about her postpartum body. Although also said, “I had a bevy of insecurities coming at me a million times a day, but I just feel incredibly settled.”

The actress, who is a mother to a beautiful daughter, did not think losing weight right after giving birth was her main priority. “Being pregnant finally helped me understand what my true relationship was with my body — meaning that it wasn’t put on this earth to look good in a swimsuit,” she said. The best advice she got as a parent was that you aren’t going to be perfect at everything.

6. Drew Barrymore

The journey Drew Barrymore went through while becoming a mother is relatable for many of us. The actress talked about how she felt alone after giving birth: “I thought it would be a little more romantic and cozy, and instead I was just terrified,” she shared. Barrymore expressed how all mothers have shared this same feeling, and that she believes that they were all superheroes no matter what.

Kristen Bell has always approached being a mother with an open honesty that few have. The actress openly admitted that she didn’t know if she wanted children. But once she did, was able to realize that despite the ups and downs of parenthood, children made it all worthwhile. Kristen has even been very honest about how being in labor for 33 hours took a toll on her, but her kids were absolutely worth it.

8. Jennifer Garner

After giving birth to 3 children, Jennifer Garner revealed that she had to do her utmost to not compare her body to others. “I will still look like a woman who’s had 3 babies and I always will,” said the actress, setting the record straight after many rumors about her being pregnant again started. “From now on, ladies, I will have a bump. And it will be my baby bump. And let’s just all settle in and get used to it.”
