I don't like the royal family. They have never experienced what real people have, no difficulties, nothing. I'm sure despite having only 12 pence in his pocket he still had lovely food, expensive clothing, no real worries. I have absolutely nothing in common with them. The majority of people in the uk live a life so far removed from theirs.

True. I dont get the hype either. They're just nominal heads with no responsibilities. Yet, there are tons of magazines and websites sharing the most trivial of details. Even the "significance of color of her purse".

And gossip mongers are behind this demand & supply.

You are right. They have no power anymore in terms of the country. If the government want to push a policy through and the queen said no it would just go to the house of Lords and go through that way. I just don't see why they are given the status they are.
