The question of how to make the process of cleaning easier, and most importantly, more effective has always been important and relevant. Fortunately, there are some little-known tricks you can do to make your clothes and other belongings stay fresher for longer.
Bright Side has collected some not-so-obvious ideas about cleaning that are surprising and very effective.
1. You can disinfect a mattress using a spray.
How do we make a mattress that we spend a significant part of our lives on fresher, you ask? Well, you can’t wash it. Of course, you could trust this task to a cleaning company, but you can easily clean the upper layer of the mattress with a spray consisting of one part alcohol mixed with two parts water.
Vacuum-clean your mattress and then sprinkle it with the alcohol solution. Let it dry. The alcohol will disinfect the upper layer and kill any bacteria that is making it smell bad.
2. Keep kitty litter in the fridge to keep it smelling fresh.
Kitty litter absorbs smells very well. If you put it in a box and put the box in the fridge, the fridge will continue to smell fresh.
Even if all the foods in the fridge are fresh, the mix of smells can lead to an unpleasant odor. Silica litters are the best choice for keeping in the fridge, while mineral litters will have no effect. Be sure to avoid wood litter since it tends to have its own smell.
3. How to ideally wash a blender
4. Salty grapefruit can clean calcareous deposit.
Be careful: use finer grains of salt in order not to scratch and damage any surfaces.

To keep your white clothes white or keep something fresh looking, you can soak it in this mixture: mix laundry detergent and bleach in equal amounts along with a tablet for washing machines.

8. A frying pan will work two times longer if you don’t wash it right away.
The easiest way to spoil the surface of a frying pan is by washing it while it’s still hot. This will lead to the food burning on it, and it will be harder to wash off the greasy spots.
So, wait until the frying pan is cool enough and only then begin to wash it.
9. Ice cubes can help get rid of furniture marks on the carpet.
To make the carpet’s surface flat when there are furniture marks on it, you can use ice. Put ice cubes on the perimeter of the damaged spots and leave them there for the night. The water will soon be absorbed by the surface and it will be flat again.
The secret to this method is the fact that the effect is gradual, so if you just pour a little water on the carpet, it won’t work as effectively.
10. You can clean a knife block with a vacuum cleaner or a hairdryer.
The most effective way to clean a wooden knife block is by using a vacuum cleaner. This will be very effective if you clean the holes with a thin wire. The onion will clean the grill faster and make new food tastier!

Chalk can remove a grease spot very easily and it doesn’t matter where it is — on wallpaper or on fabric. Rub the oily spot with a piece of chalk and wait for 5 minutes. After that, rub the spot with a wet piece of cloth.
You’ll need to do this several times with particularly badly stained spots.
13. You can easily remove stickers from new items using a hairdryer.
Price stickers on new things, even those that seem impossible to remove, can be easily peeled off if you heat them with a hairdryer for a minute or two first. You will see how easily they come off without leaving a trace.
