Isn't it a SHAME that men AND women have to HIDE in plain sight? Imagine the suffering that could have been AVOIDED if others didn't tell ANYONE HOW they should live, or WHO they should love.

Wow, that must of been hard , and your granny must of felt bad for you finding out that way, Mabye it would be nice for them to know that’s why you haven’t asked , like say you don’t need to know if it brings back too many bad memories but if they want to tell you about him you’ll be happy to listen

You could ask your mom if you were named after anyone special? A gentle nudge could open up a conversation.

Sure your mom hasn't just been servicing the local lumberjacks? Bless her heart ❤️

That's a terrible thing to do to a old lady and then you fine out, its her mother!!! Plus, she never had any intention of paying her back!! Hopefully she is in therapy or was. That doesn't seem "normal" to me. I mean, how much do you have to dislike your mom to do that? Also, never to see them again? Yep, therapy time for grandma too.

THAT IS DANGEROUS. I KNOW SOMEONE WHO DATED THEIR OWN SISTER, BECAUSE DADDY DABBLED, AND NO ONE KNEW.

I knew a couple who did this because of financial issues. If they stayed married while her husband went into care, the carehome would take as much money as they can to cover his care leaving her with very little. If divorced they can't touch her money but can only use his pension and any other supplecments he has. She still visits and takes him places.

My sister married her late husband's brother. They just celebrated their 28th anniversary. He is a good man and she is very happy.
It used to be socially acceptable (and sometimes expected) for a mans brother to marry his widow. There is actually a reference to that practice in the Christian bible. I had a great aunt who married three brothers in a row. The first one died at the beginning of WWI. The second, younger, brother died in the war not long after she married him. The third brother/husband survived the war, and lived to his 90's. It did not seem to be a happy marriage. She told me once that the mean ones always live the longest, and he was really mean, so he would probably live forever. I felt really bad for her. She was always very sweet.
Maybe you need to keep it that way....
That is no big deal.....back in those days it was normal for the brother to marry the widow of his late brother. Look it up in google under......was it normal for brothers to marry their brothers widow, in the past? You just might be surprised. When you find out that it was normal, I hope you stick up for her if anyone says something bad about them.
That was very common, especially if she had children.
Didn't they know, even back in older days that incestuous relationships can make their babies deformed and all kinds of issues that's too many to name here ?? 😑😪
That's only if you marry your own brother not the brother of your deceased husband.
Marrying your deceased brother's wife is NOT incestuous. Think about it 🤔
