15 Stories That Prove the Universe Has a Beautiful Way of Rewarding Good Hearts

We often hear that “good always triumphs,” but in life, this isn’t always the case. However, stories where justice does eventually prevail — even if it takes a while — make us believe in the better side of things. In this article, we put together stories with satisfying and rightful endings.

  • This happened years ago, but it still makes me grin, Grinch-style. I was working on a really big project at the time. The VP was aware that I was the main resource on the project, so he included me in the status meetings. My manager did not like that; she didn’t want anyone else getting any kind of recognition for the project, so I was instructed to sit there and keep my mouth shut.
The next status meeting came around, and I did just what she told me to do: I sat there, taking notes and saying nothing... right up until the VP started asking questions about project details, which she couldn’t answer because she was the only person attached to the project who did not actually *work* on the project.
She was furious, but what could she do? After that disaster, I was allowed to attend and participate. © VisionAri_VA / Reddit
  • A friend started flirting with my husband right in front of me. She was laughing at his every joke, even if it wasn’t funny at all, was “accidentally” grabbing his hand, or hanging on his shoulder. I watched, thinking maybe I’m being paranoid.
My husband seemed like he didn’t notice, acting as usual, but she was blatantly hitting on him. Then she even declared, “Oh, can I borrow your husband for a day? I need someone to hang a TV at home!” I took a deep breath to say something, but didn’t get a chance.
My husband turned to her calmly, without aggression, and said, “Irene, stop it. Find yourself a man already.” She turned red, mumbled that she was joking, grabbed her bag, and disappeared. I just sat there, looking at my husband, thinking — what a sweetheart he really is! © Mamdarinka / VK
  • I go to the gym around 4 a.m. because it’s basically a ghost town and all the equipment is free. 5 minutes into my 30-minute run, it’s just me and a sea of empty treadmills, until this guy, let’s call him Kevin, comes in and chooses the one right next to me. Okay, annoying but whatever. I’m already in my groove.
Then he takes out his phone, sets it on the treadmill, and starts blasting music on full volume. No headphones, at 4 a.m., in a silent gym. I don’t want to immediately snap at him, so I say a little loud, “God, I love headphones.”

Kevin glances at me, says nothing and keeps walking. So I try again, “Hey, can you please use headphones?” And this man has the audacity to say, “Mind your business.” Alright. My run is ruined, so I decide his walk is about to be ruined too.
He’s playing some 80s rock, so I start belting out K-Pop Demon Hunter songs. Here’s the thing about me, I cannot sing like at all, and I’m out of breath. But I commit because ruining his run is more important than breathing.
After about 2 minutes of my awful serenade, Kevin gives up, grabs his stuff, and moves to the opposite end of the treadmills. I have never felt more vindicated on behalf of everyone who believes in basic gym etiquette. © undercover_union145 / Reddit
  • I divorced my husband because of his infidelities. I’m a kind person, so I just quietly left. Revenge, tantrums, grudges — that’s not me. We even stayed on good terms because of our mutual son.
But I did manage to get a little revenge. I happened to run into his friend at the mall, we started talking. And suddenly we fell in love with each other. It’s been 2 years, and we’re planning a wedding.
My ex-husband was, to put it mildly, shocked when he found out that his friend and I are now in a relationship. He’s still angry about it. It’s awkward, but I was free at that moment and didn’t cheat on him. © Overheard / Ideer
  • There was this couple at my job who make everyone ornaments. They both hated me from the first time we met. No idea why, I think they just have narcissistic traits, and I’m liked initially by people I meet. This likely set them off, who knows.
Everyone’s ornaments were just stellar and something that was known about them. I’m a huge Star Wars fan, this is well-known about me from initial meeting. My ornament was like a slice of orange or an artistic version. Needless to say, they did it to make me feel left out.
I displayed that ornament and made a point to let everyone know I was so excited to get a “random gift.” Everyone was like, why is yours not Star Wars, they do everyone’s in the nerdom they like. I just was like, “Oh really? I guess they didn’t know,” which is a lie because it’s kind of all I wear.
It made them look petty. To the point they asked me to stop displaying it. I played dumb, “Why would I do that? Someone took the time to handmade me something, that is special.” They were pissed. © CuriousPenguinSocks / Reddit
  • A friend was dating a girl for several years, they were planning to get married, saving up money to move to warmer places. It didn’t work out — he got caught cheating. His ex didn’t hesitate — she took half of their savings, then went to a dumpster and picked up the first cat she found. And that’s how she left.
  • Once, at a company where I worked as an architect, I used the company laptop’s Photoshop to make my daughter’s birthday invitation. It took maybe 10 minutes. My boss saw it in the recent files while we were reviewing a project together and told me the computer was for work only. I just said “Okay”, because... well, what else was I going to say.
That same week, I traveled to another city to survey a building. I did everything with the tape measure and laser the company provided. When I got back, he asked if I had already downloaded the photos, because he wanted to see the inside of the building.
I told him I hadn’t taken any photos, since my phone was personal. He was furious on the inside, but couldn’t show it, because months earlier I had asked the company for a work phone, and they had refused.
The next day, a brand-new Samsung appeared on my desk. And off I went again to the same city, to take the photos, with the company paying for flights, hotel, and all the doubled expenses. © Few_Jaguar_9360 / Reddit
  • One day, a young woman walks into my friend’s store and claims with a smirk that she is her husband’s mistress. “Let him go, he doesn’t love you.” My friend just smirks back and replies that she can pack her husband’s things by tomorrow. She’s happy she won’t have to endure him and his relatives any longer.
However, he’ll be paying alimony. Moreover, all the real estate is registered in her name. That mistress heard everything, turned around, and ran out crying! My friend parted ways with her husband 2 days later, but sure enough she got all the property, money, and alimony. © Mamdarinka / VK
  • I witnessed a situation where a girl in high heels, looking all striking and shapely, indignantly told her friend, “Why don’t you wear heels? You’re so short. Guys don’t even look at you because of that.” They walked a bit further, and one of the girl’s heels broke. She fell, dragging her friend down with her.
A guy approached them and first helped the short girl up, then said, “I heard your conversation. Here’s my number, come on a date without heels, I like petite women.” The girl in heels blushed and stood there with an unhappy face. © Caramel / VK
  • I live in an apartment in Melbourne and this guy keeps parking in my basement spot. I’ve told him a few times, and every time he just laughs and says, “I’ll move it quickly.”
Melbourne Cup long weekend I pulled up, and he’s parked in my spot. I parked in front of his car, blocked off. He knocks on my door and says, “You need to move the car.”
I say, “Look, mate, I’m not able to find my keys on my car. I’ve been searching everywhere for the past hour, I tried to ring the locksmith, and they said it’s going to be double the charge around $500 or something due to the public holiday. You got to wait for 2 days. If you’re happy to pay, you pay.”
He says he’ll ring the police. I just shrug and tell him, “Mate, you are stuck in my spot, you can call the police or anyone.” 2 days later, I “magically” find the keys, he storms off pale and furious. He hasn’t dared to park in my spot since, and I still crack up thinking about how angry he got trapped like that. © Commercial_Stick1826 / Reddit
  • So I was sitting peacefully in my room, playing, when suddenly my mom bursts in shouting, “You’re sitting at your computer all day — not doing anything! We didn’t have computers back then, and we found plenty of ways to entertain ourselves!” and she pulls the plug from the socket.
My grandma was watching this scene. I’m sitting there in shock: what was that? After a while, I hear shouting from the kitchen, so I quietly go over.
Mom: “Who turned off the slow cooker?! The porridge isn’t cooked yet!” Grandma entered the kitchen and said, “I turned it off. We used to cook without your stoves, and certainly without slow cookers! Your generation is so lazy, can’t even kindle a stove,” then she glanced at me, smiled, and winked.

  • In the spring, my husband told me to pack my stuff and leave. I went to the country house to dig up my expensive seedlings. But I also threw in some seeds into the ground.
In the fall, I was in that area, and there was a sign on the house — “For Sale.” The neighbor said that my ex can’t sell it, all because I had sowed catnip seeds in the heat of the moment. I thought it wouldn’t grow well anyway — maybe a couple of bushes, local cats might visit, a minor inconvenience at most.
However, the catnip not only took root but spread across the entire yard. Now swarms of cats hang out there, and the smell is overwhelming. There’s no way to weed it out.
  • We dated for almost 2 years, and I fell head over heels in love, but then he said to me, “I don’t want to date you anymore!” My world fell apart; tears streamed down my face. Then my beloved pulled out a ring and continued, “I don’t want to just date you, I want you to be mine forever.”
5 years later, I told him that there was someone else in my life and I loved them more than anything in the world. My husband stood there stunned, unable to say a word, and finally managed to ask, “Who?!” I replied, “Our son or daughter, I don’t know which yet.”

  • I have teenagers and a hubby who works from home. I work a demanding job with fairly long hours, but I don’t mind cooking when I get back, as I enjoy it and can whip up a meal in under 20 minutes if I need to.
So the deal is, I’ll cook, and hubby and kids get clean-up duty. The problem is that they’re all extremely messy and aren’t at all bothered by a dirty, messy kitchen, whereas a dirty kitchen is the one thing that really upsets me.
So after a long, hard day at work, I’d get back to a filthy, dirty kitchen and have to clean it before I could start cooking. I got tired of nagging and screaming — it just elevated my stress levels. So I would get some food at work, arrive home, sit on the couch and read my book.
After a while, someone would ask what was for supper. I would say, “I don’t know... I can’t really do much in a dirty kitchen.” And carry on reading my book. I would not end up cooking that evening as it got too late and everyone else would have to have cheese on toast — much to their disgust.
Now, when I get home, the kitchen is spotless and the dishwasher on. Problem solved. © CourageOk299 / Reddit
  • My ex broke up with me because he thought I wasn’t ambitious enough. He wanted a girlfriend who would build a business with him and aim for bigger goals, not just “live a normal life.”
Years passed, and I’d forgotten about him. In that time, I found a good job, started my own business, and achieved success. Recently, I ran into him at a store. He stood at the register with drinks and chips but didn’t have enough money.
I went over, paid for him, and he even recognized me, saying he’d pay me back. I replied, “Oh, no need, consider it my investment in your business.” © Caramel / VK

And here are more stories about revenge that was so perfect it deserved a trophy.
