Modern day fashion has very strict rules, like it’s considered wrong to wear the same dress twice, and it’s thought that you should update your collection of clothes every season when the new collections come out. Most celebrities follow these requirements, but others bravely violate them.

We at Bright Side have chosen 8 celebrities that don’t care about these fashion rules and who are not afraid of showing up in the same outfits twice or even 3 times.

1. Cate Blanchett

This Hollywood actress can effortlessly wear the same clothes twice for a Red Carpet ceremony. She wore this wonderful Armani dress for the Golden Globe’s ceremony in January 2014, and 4 years later, she appeared in the same dress in Cannes.

2. Anna Wintour

As surprising as it is, the editor of Vogue and one of the most influential figures in the fashion world often wears her dresses 2 times. In 2012, at the reception of the British Prime Minister, she was wearing the outfit she had also appeared in 3 years previously at a Met Gala event.

3. Helena Bonham Carter

Because this actress has very extravagant taste, every appearance of hers makes an unforgettable impression. But despite that, Helena is totally okay with wearing outfits twice. So, in 2012 at the London Film Festival she was wearing the same dress she had worn a year before, just with a different hairstyle and accessories.

4. Victoria Beckham

This lady always looks terrific, it doesn’t matter if she is just going out or doing something important. But she sees nothing wrong in wearing the same clothes twice and she knows how to reuse them effectively.

On her Instagram account, she even posts photos in the same dress that were taken years apart.

5. Helen Mirren

A Hollywood actress at this level can do whatever she wants: Helen wore the same dress just 2 months apart. She must have really liked this Dolce & Gabbana dress with the children’s drawings print.

6. Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge has already proven to the world and to Britain that she is a pragmatic and thrifty person. She loves clothes that are not from very expensive brands and she wears things 2 or even 3 times. She even wears her dresses many times, only changing her accessories and her hairstyle.

This coatdress from Alexander McQueen had already been worn by Kate twice before she appeared at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in it.

7. Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Sussex tries to keep up and also wears the same clothes several times. The violet Aritzia dress, which cost less than £100, that she wore with her red coat, was widely discussed in the fashion industry. But despite that, Meghan recently appeared in public wearing that dress again.

This dress, with the big stripes, was worn by Meghan Markle when she visited Sydney at the end of 2018. One year later, she wore it again in South Africa.

8. Meryl Streep

In 2009, the actress made a splash when she appeared at a BAFTA event wearing a dress she wore for an Oscar ceremony in 1979. Since then, Meryl has become a world-famous actress, she has won many awards, and has had 4 children, but the 30-year-old dress looked even better on her than the first time she wore it.

Bonus: Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner

Sometimes, it happens that mothers and daughters share their dresses. And even a stylish and wealthy family like the Kardashian-Jenner clan don’t see anything wrong with it.

Do you like this trend of seeing celebrities wear the same thing several times? If you were a celebrity, would you support this trend or would you buy new clothes every time? Of course, we are only talking about wearing things to public events.

I think it's over the top and a flamboyant waste of money to only wear a dress once. They're too full of themselves if they think differently!

Men wear their stuff repetitively! Why is this an article? It’s wasteful to just discard. This is shaming to women. Do you have pictures with dudes in holy underwear or the same suit or jeans or tshirts? Why does this even matter? Why is it an issue in 1 or 2 or 3 years even? It is extremely wasteful to toss clothing as long as it holds up and is comfortable and still appeasing to its owner!
